- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 6175678, 8 years agoI've been a long-standing pro user of Evernote; But their continuous, buggy releases of the Web Clipper plugin is unnerving. Poor software product, use only if you have to (there are alternatives, like OneNote).
- Rated 1 out of 5by Rick, 8 years agoIt's no wonder why the owner left their asses. PAID users of this crapware have to literally BEG for fixes or bugs to be squashed,....and this has been going on for years. I had to resort to go back a few versions, 6.2.0, just to get this to work half-ass again. The constant having to sign in every time the browser is closed, etc..is ridiculous. What happens when you ask for help on their "forums"....ARROGANCE & EXCUSES.
Webclipper has gotten worse...every update. It's too intrusive now...it looks like a mini web browser popup box, etc. It NEVER stays signed in....and their is no reason at all for a "30 day" option at all. Who do they hire?????
LEAVE IT ALONE! GO BACK TO 6.2.0 and fix it from there!
The only reason they "jumped" versions is their own corporate arrogance and thinking that PAID subscribers would tolerate it.
Wait until renewal...they'll get a nice FU email.....
I used to have a lot of faith and even excitement with EN. No more.
PERIOD - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12712703, 8 years agoDescription says "Works with Firefox for Android 49.0 - *, Firefox 49.0 and later", but the install button says "can't be installed on release versions of Firefox 43 and above".
- Rated 1 out of 5by Alois Wrdlbrmbfd, 8 years agoDoes not do anything at all with FF 50.0.2/Linux, x64. Seems to be unmaintained. Since nobody seems to notice that it's completely broken, it's safe to assume that nobody gives a cent if it is secure. Sorry, Evernote. It just didn't work out with us...
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12703302, 8 years agoWhen I try to sign in plugin return very informative message "Unknown error". When I click create account "Error_Network_Unavailable" error occurred.
So this plugin completely broken under FF linux. - Rated 1 out of 5by jcelle, 8 years agoClipping just does not work any longer: operation never compltes...
Poor Evernote team they never learned the "if it is not broken don't fix it" statement. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12699187, 8 years agoI like Firefox and I like Evernote, but the immortal Quick start tab is really annoying. However, I discovered that I really enjoy Opera again and Evernote seems to work fine.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12693686, 8 years agoProblem with automatically starting help page after weeks still not solved
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12688539, 8 years agoIt consumes a lot of ressources and slowdown my computer.
- Rated 1 out of 5by kevsonic, 8 years agoAn extension should be almost invisible, or only visible when called upon. This one recently wants my attention at every start of the browser. A new "welcome" tab greets me each time, and frankly I don't have that much love for it.
- Rated 1 out of 5by staysafe, 8 years agoLike others, I am disabling this addon, mostly for the annoying Firefox extra tab at startup, and also because I agree with others about not wanting my saved data being required to be sent to the cloud.
- Rated 1 out of 5by scott, 8 years agoThe new 'web extension' version doesn't work on current Firefox running on up-to-date Ubuntu 14.04.5.
- Rated 1 out of 5by ant, 8 years agoNo way to avoid the Evernote's tutorial as a second homepage if you are not loged in and and there is no option to keep you loged in.
It seems this is a problem that the complement has every while. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12680430, 8 years agoThe Web Clipper App was one of the outstanding features of this programm. If this did not work any more, I can use any other programm for my basic notebook requirements.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Steeeve, 8 years agoI did not set Evernote's tutorial as a homepage and there is no option to turn it off! To make it worse, I cannot login to this plugin anymore, making it useless.
So, I guess I am disabling it until such time the developers turn the tutorial popup OFF and fix the login issue. I was trying to get into using Evernote, but that is hard to do when my main source of making notes is broken and annoying me every time I open my browser. - Rated 1 out of 5by A Firefox User, 8 years agoIt looks like Evernote has again decided removed the ability to clip to the local app, instead forcing everyone to clip to the website. They did this years ago, but backtracked after all the negative reaction, which they are getting again.
Long ago, their add-on used to be rated 4.5-5 stars. Then they removed local clipping and all the negative reviews dropped it down to 3 stars. They did it again, and I wouldn't be surprised if the rating drops to 1 star.
Evernote, learn from your mistakes. Re-enable local clipping!
I have downgraded to Version 6.2.0 to regain access to local clipping. - Rated 1 out of 5by LJ Wolfe, 8 years agoThis used to be a useful add-on. Now, it opens a quick-start tab every time I restart FF, makes me sign in every time instead of remembering, and doesn't remember my settings so every time I log in I have to go fix them again.
I'm so very, very glad I didn't fall for their "get premium" scam when they added restrictions to free users, because I see that paid users are having the same issues. Another good app ruined, probably by bean-counters. - Rated 1 out of 5by Gefest, 8 years agoСейчас даже не дает заллогиниться - не видно даже куда нажиматть - пропал текст с буттонов. Статьи сохраняет в каком ему удобно варианте
- Rated 1 out of 5by asongbird, 8 years agoWhere to begin?
Besides the irritating problem of having to sign in repeatedly every time I try to use the Clipper, when my browser comes up after being reloaded or restarted I get this page:
https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209125877
Which gives me a “quick start” page tutorial…which I DON’T need!
I also don’t need the time-to-time prompts “Evernote can do this…and that…and that”
And if I sign in it takes me to the whole library as a web page.
I don’t WANT to use the web version habitually…when I want the whole library open I open it specifically for that.
And now, for absolutely no reason whatsoever, the clipper will not work…not active, has a red dot, does not give me the signin access at all either.
I am a Premium member. Rather frustrated one.
I never ever understand why people screw around with apps and services that work perfectly fine the way they are.
Sigh. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12668752, 8 years agoEvery time Firefox opens, Web Clipper opens an initial login tab, also now I have to login from the tool bar icon every time Firefox starts. Same in Chrome. A good product going from bad to worse. Microsoft is offering a migration tool to One Note - https://www.onenote.com/import-evernote-to-onenote. Now that One Note is free to use in Windows 10 off I go to One Note and on the way I'll cancel my premium account with Evernote
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12668698, 8 years agoSince the update of the webclipper this does not work anymore:
when I had clipped a webpage, then the clipped note opens in a new local (!) Evernote window, so that I can file it in my desired Evernote notebook.
At the moment it is filed automatically in the standard notebook. So I need an extra step: going to my local Evernote, going into the standard notebook and filing the clipped note into the right notebook.
This happens ALTHOUGH I have set the Evernote (for Windows 7) settings to "open clipped note in a new window"!!
(Firefox 50.0, newest Evernote for Windows 7) - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12665860, 8 years agoI hadn't updated for a while, but noticed I needed to login.
Unfortunately I get an "unknown" error every time, making web clipper useless.
I tried updating everything, Firefox, Evernote, and web clipper, but same result. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12253899, 8 years agoImpossible to log in, when you click the add-on icon, a dialog box appears with two blank text fields, a blue button and a green button - no explaining text whatsoever, and neither button does anything when clicked.
I'm considering cancelling my premium membership, Evernote doesn't seem to be listening to its customers any more.
