- Rated 4 out of 5by orangedeal, 3 months agoThe impression is that the extension stopped working normally after the update. I hope the author will make it possible to add channels to the blacklist by name, not ID. It's better than nothing.
- Rated 4 out of 5by knight55, 3 months agoMust have for youtube. Needs to have sync and undo feature though. Also should allow us to exclude block option from certain pages and allow easier manual adding of video id for videos!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Valmont, a year agoNot bad. However, when I block a channel using the menu context, I don't care for it's "ID". The name of the channel blocked must appear in the "Name" section of the "Filter Options" section. So that I can scroll through the names and possibly remove a block for example. I don't care for the difficult "json" file export either. I'm an end-user. I don't want to study JSON files, by exporting it first, to find the video channel/title I may have blocked. And then I need to be accurate when undoing the block. No thank you. Make this more end-user friendly. It's too nerdy and/or cumbersome to undo actions.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Oliver, a year agoApparently, it works. But I'll admit I have no idea how to block SEVERAL different keywords in the video's title. I only observed it successfully blocked one.
Anyone knows, please? - Rated 4 out of 5by Craig, a year ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by BlohoJo, 2 years agoBlocking channel names with simple names will block all channels with that name as part of the channel name (example: blocking a channel called "Cars" will also block "Fast Cars", "Bad Cars, etc.). Solution is to block by channel ID. But the plugin has no place or way to enter notes for channel ID's. If you block 50 channels, how are you going to remember what all 50 channels are by their ID hash, which is only what BlockTube will show? Solution would be to have a notes option for each channel ID, or even a way for the plugin to fetch the name of the channel at the time of blocking. So there's no solution for this right now other than to keep notes in a separate text file. Not ideal.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17305864, 2 years agoYou would think there'd be plenty of ways by now for something as simple as "block a channel / block content by keyword", but this almost unknown addon is the only one that gets the job done. I only discovered it after installing the video-blocker add-on (which doesn't work at all) and after seeing a review for that addon that mentioned the blocktube. Please make this available on Firefox Android as well!

- Rated 4 out of 5by Elfpvke, 3 years agoWorks once I figured it out - trying wildcards like *channel* didn't work, I had to remove the asterisks.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Seth Falco, 3 years agoOverall the extension works, though the UI could probably be improved. ^-^'
Just a note for others, by default if you block a channel, then even if you access a direct link to it like from a message, you won't be able to watch it. If this isn't what you want, just enable "Enable suggestions hide-only mode" in the settings, then the channel won't appear in your feed or search results, but direct links will still work. - Rated 4 out of 5by Tag, 4 years agoI gave it 4 stars, because it seems to take a while to actually start blocking keywords. I can't figure out why, but there were clear misses when I first started using it today, but after a few hours and several additions to the key word list, it seems to be working. Thank heavens because YouTube's recommended feed is a dumpster fire.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15193679, 5 years agoThis add-on is great, I can finally block all those annoying meme and clickbait videos scattered across YouTube without having it slowing anything down. However, there's no way to block playlists regardless if you've blocked the creator of the playlist. I really hope it's possible to add something like this in an update.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14258782, 6 years agoit works I just wish there was a option to not remove videos from channels you are already suscribed, other than that it does the job.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Anonymous user 92bq5r, 6 years agoThis is so far the best add-on for managing youtube. I hope to see it continue with updates.
I think adding the context menu to more places would be useful.
The block list can get quite large, so performance is important to avoid lag when loading youtube. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14219139, 6 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14114591, 6 years agoI use this addon to block annoying podcasts and other uploads from channels I usually like. It seems to work perfectly, including in the sub feed (I suspect the underlying requests rather than the page DOM are being filtered, but I haven't checked the source code). My only suggestions would be to add an option for tags, or to include a short "how-to" text on the options page itself without having to click through. Maybe even a quick Regex tutorial for newbies would be useful. Still, this addon gets the job done and causes no issues.
