Blue Butterfly - Orange Spots by BrianZ
Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly (Battus philenor), poisonous to birds and distinguished from imitators by having only a single row of orange spots on underside of the wings. Thanks to the person who motivated me to identify this beautiful creature. Photographed along the Blue Ridge Parkway in SW Virginia.
