- Rated 5 out of 5by PeaceByJesus.net, 3 years agoThis is a primary extension (choose Use Custom Colors) which I think should be a default part of FF.
And changing widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.style to 4 (from 0) in about:config (and hit the Save checkmark) makes it wider.
And I read with disappointment about the response to the developer by FF to enable wider widths:
Rather, as Custom Scrollbars beatifically examples, customization enhances browsers. Thank God.
(Note that Custom Scrollbars will not work in Firefox system pages as this). - Rated 5 out of 5by Kets, 3 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Ally, 3 years agoCustom colours just straight-up didn't work. Not much use in an extension that just lets me change how wide my scroll bar is.

posted 3 years agoSorry to hear that the add-on wasn't working properly for you.
On some systems, the scrollbar colors may be overridden by the operating system itself. In that case, there is a setting that can be disabled in Firefox to allow the Custom Scrollbars add-on to change the colors. See this for more information: https://github.com/WesleyBranton/Custom-Scrollbar/wiki/Scrollbar-customization-is-not-being-applied - Rated 5 out of 5by ThunderingRoar, 3 years agoWorks great most of the time, for example it doesnt work on twitch or twitch chat.
Also since i use fully transparent scrollbar track color there are some websites like EGS where the scrollbar track is plain white for some reasonDeveloper response
posted 3 years agoGlad to hear that you like the add-on.
Unfortunately, there are some websites (Twitch is a good example) that have taken scrollbars a step further. Instead of using an actual scrollbar, these websites have designed custom components that look and behave similar to scrollbars, but they are fully custom. Since these are not actually considered "scrollbars" by the browser, it's not currently possible for me to make any modifications to these scrollbars.
As for the transparency issue, some websites have not set the background of the page (meaning it stays white) and instead have a large panel that they have set to be the width of the screen. The width of the screen does not include the scrollbar, so the white background hiding below shows through. Much like the issue above, there's no way for me to fix these either. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17266125, 3 years ago

posted 3 years agoHi James. Sorry to hear you had issues with the add-on.
As far as the scrollbar buttons go, currently Firefox only supports limited scrollbar customizations. That only includes colors and very limited width settings. As Firefox adds more features (which I hope they do), I will be able to add more functionality.
As for no visible changes being shown, it's important to note that there are some pages the add-on cannot make changes to. These mainly include internal browser pages (settings, etc.) and pages that are generated by other add-ons. - Rated 4 out of 5by Poun-64, 3 years agoFonctionne bien sous Firefox 95. J'ai toutefois un problème sur le site :
https://www.casino.fr/ecommerce/GC-catalog/fr/WE64853/?moderetrait=Z4
Developer response
posted 3 years agoBonjour! A feature that allows users to disable the add-on on specific websites is on my to-do list.
In the meantime, perhaps you can use website rules to give that website a specific scrollbar appearance. For more information, see: https://github.com/WesleyBranton/Custom-Scrollbar/wiki/Using-website-rules - Rated 5 out of 5by ༺{Beau Peep}༻, 3 years agoEffective simplicity!
Just for solving the (ie, my personal) essential necessity of a visible scrollbar, I gave it 5*s, option to customize colours add an extra plus: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐➕. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14582649, 3 years ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15008987, 3 years agoI had to stop using Firefox, because of the NARROW SCROLLBAR. I will look again if they ever fix this issue... It's NOT the developer's fault.

posted 3 years agoSadly, the narrow scrollbars is easily the more common feedback I get. I hope that the Firefox developers allow more customization options in the near future. - Rated 2 out of 5by Cherwally, 3 years agoWhy is the icon so misleading?
It is showing rounded scrollbars and some volume (2D) but instead they are available only squared ones and no volume (gradient) at all? :(Developer response
posted 3 years agoUnfortunately, Firefox only supports very limited scrollbar customization at the moment. I hope that changes in the future so that I can add more functionality for Firefox users. - Rated 5 out of 5by Dvaedfug, 3 years ago
