- Rated 1 out of 5by Cody, 8 months agoEver since the update from the desktop app to the browser-only extension, it never works. What was the point of killing the app? It worked just fine. Go back to the app or fix your mistake.

posted 7 months agoHey Cody, please let us know which functionalities does not work you exactly. We're sure majority of them works just fine. If you talk about autofill, remember about giving NordPass permission to copy the data. - Rated 4 out of 5by rastus, 8 months agoI posted previously, before I grudgingly switched to the new browser extension instead of the old desktop app browser extension. I had complained about the forced change. I also was hesitant because of my (and others) perception that the new version would be less secure. I am still not convinced about the security - because Nord never would explain why I shouldn't be concerned. You just said, in effect, don't worry about it. No technical explanation or reference to one.
Anyway, with that said, I want to state that this new browser extension works way way way better than the old one. It's consistently reliable. And another advantage is that I don't need to find a Linux version of the NordPass desktop program, which previously was difficult unless you use Ubuntu and don't mind Snap files.
Someone said you still need the desktop program. Well yes and no. If you don't mind opening the browser to get whatever you have stored in NordPass, then you don't have to have it. I use both in Windows but only have the browser extension in Linux, and I have no complaints.
So this is good. Now, if you (Nord) would just provide some technical explanation of how the security works when it's part of the browser - or why I should not be concerned about it. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18471890, 8 months agoThis is a generic "update" from the original "Desktop" addon. Now you have to login to Desktop AND the browser plugin.
The Desktop is the better option as it's easier to use for notes and better interface. The plugin should be used as simplicity for autofill on webpages, not as the overall product.
PLEASE bring back desktop functionality to this plugin!Developer response
posted 7 months agoWith the standalone extension, you don't need to use desktop app anymore. Everything is perfectly covered within new browser add-on. To quickly add secure note, click extension logotype, + icon at the bottom of the extension dropdown and then write a note on the dedicated browser page. Voila. :)
Cheers/

Copying passwords using the copy button never really worked, you would have to open the record and then copy it manully. recently it stopped working on my laptop so i uninstalled it which i forgot syncs to my other machines, now it will not install just get the install just get the moving dot constently. going to start looking at alternatives. i dont have time to write length emails and submit logs and wait day for respones. somthing like an extension sould just work.
***Update***
Had to completely rip firefox from the machine and do a clean innstall now it seems to work! not ideal but it will do Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Alex, 8 months agoWorked for a couple days and now it doesn't (even after uninstalling & reinstalling). Even clicking the nord icon on password prompts provides no response. Useless now.
May as well have all my passwords on notepad to copy and paste and just use control-f to quick search them. Other one worked just fine.Developer response

It keeps refreshing to the email log in page. I chatted with Nord support; hoping to get some resolution the next few days. I want to use this browser because Chrome is slower than a dehydrated snail.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18456117, 8 months agofound that when problems arose with other sites i was being shut out from nordpass.
Trying to reconnect is a pain in the ar$$e..my son uses another password system without any hassles, when this contract expires so will i. Why do you need TWO DIFFERENT PASSWORDS TO GET BACK INTO YOUR ACCOUNT?sorry for the shout , frustration .for this system to get better they have to be a bit more clever, at the moment it is too convoluted for its own good.
REMEMBER K.I.S.S? i am still shut out after various attempts to reconnect 4 hours and still countingDeveloper response

Don't know why actually. Tried to deinstall and reinstall it. Nothing seems to work. Quite frustrating, because I am paying for this service. Don't I? Even more frustrating, because it used to work very good.

- Rated 1 out of 5by mpsbarra, 9 months agoThis new updated browser-only add-on is terrible. It constantly logs me out. Never had this problem with the desktop-based add-on. I will not be renewing my NordPass subscription. The macOS desktop app is very sluggish as well. 1Password on Linux is better than NordPass on macOS.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18453542, 9 months agoDiese App ist schlichtweg mittlerweile der letzte Dreck!!!!!!!
- Rated 1 out of 5by NotYou, 9 months agoI paid for this and it's not usable. All it does is disable the auto-fill-in which means I have to manually enter every password. So it doesn't do what it is supposed to do and this is what I paid for? What a rip-off! BUYER BEWARE!
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18453307, 9 months agoI don't know what's happened but why can I no longer log-in with my fingerprint? Why is the standalone app no longer recognised as being a source of data by the browser? This update has made a paid-for product really awful. Please fix it or I'll be looking to switch app very quickly.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Angrier, 9 months agoI don't know what's happened, but the NordPass firefox extension has suddenly rendered NordPass unworkable. It will no longer open a website, remeber ID's, usernames or passwords. It is worse than useless

- Rated 1 out of 5by chuck norris, 9 months agoI really don't know how they screwed this up so much, having both a master password and an account password, even after I have done 2FA to log into the website, where upon then the extension takes over and then asks for my master password which I can't get because trying to go to the site which has the hash I need to reset my master password forces me back into the extension, so I have to use another device, but their android app doesn't even have biometric integration, it just opens the website to authenticate, so I can't get it there, and if you try to disable the plugin, the website doesn't even load, so I can't login to write down any information I might need, ... and so on and so forth... this is so stupid and unusable unless you write down both your password and your master password... how about hey, here is my thumb print, now please remind me my passwords ... I mean what even is the point of the master password to begin with...
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18450962, 9 months agoTerrible update. 12month paid user, old desktop app was brilliant, made my life sane again under heavy handed corp security settings, i was secure but easy. This extension however defeated their own security, i'm literally now back to txt file passwords on desktop since it wants master or normal password every single day on every single browser. yep. 'leave ext unlocked' sometimes sticks, but even when it does i still have to unlock 4x browsers and 1x app per day minimum. Their own app slogan "simplify your life" was absolutely true, until this extension released. To fix it it needs a 'disable per browser' login required setting (not 'unlock'), if i have to do that sign in per browser then i may as well use free per browser login/profiles/pwd saves, which was the entire point of going with a single paid pwd manager. Don't buy it while this feature is enabled. Just don't.
