NordVPN extension 2.21 is becoming what many of us want to avoid on the internet. During login it digs around inside browser and throws a captcha page. It is broken in browsers modified to limit this sort of negative behaviour. From a privacy and security company the behaviour of this extension is surprising and disappointing. Earlier version 2.17 behaves in expected and acceptable manner... it connects proxy and nothing more.
EDIT: Nonsense response from the developer. Classic deflect and distract to draw attention away from real issues. People need to understand this extension is heading in the direction of data miners and spyware.Developer response

I like the idea of Nordvpn as a solution but the recent update on the addon has included a recaptha, just to make the experience of having to login at every occasion even more sucky!!.. why the addon cannot remember the user is a human?.. fix it - don't just suggest reinstall.
Expect better from "the world’s #1 VPN".. the Linux experience is not as good as could be.Developer response

Sorry if this caused you any inconvenience. Но этот аддон просто не работает от слова совсем! Я даже не могу пройти капчу, не говоря уже о вводе своих логин/пароль. Похоже причина в uMatrix и возможно других блокировщиках. Но я не собираюсь отключать их! Мне важна работа uMatrix.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13113864, 4 years agoit works but it is slow. it is best just turn on VPN with NordVPN for Windows 10. It is WAY faster. NordVPN connection through Firefox add-on for whatever reason is really slow.

NordVPN markets itself as privacy respecting company, but insults the intelligence of customers by utilizing a for-profit captcha with hcaptcha, a company which accepts bids for the captchas solved by users to label training data for companies, potentially a very real threat to privacy through finer grained surveillance.
Keeping an extension logged in securely is not a difficult task and nobody else so far needed a captcha to keep users logged in consistently, so why not be honest with paying customers for once?Developer response

- Rated 2 out of 5by charlieeJ, 4 years agoThis is great when it works, it's supposedly the best VPN, but it really slows my internet when switched on half the time, and when using the app it will disconnect after about 10 minutes. Watching a movie on Netflix with the app is impossible. It's not a free VPN so we expect better! It would nice to not have connectivity issues and to not affect browsing speed.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16016582, 4 years agoWhat is with the slowly growing window when you click on the extension button? Just open the whole thing immediately. I have to click it, watch it start to grow at a painfully slow pace, scroll down in the tiny window, and then try to click "quick connect" on a moving target. I cannot think of a worse UI design.
