- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14764153, 5 years agoFINALLY ... a popup blocker that works! I'm just using the "Smart Light" mode and it's blocking the popups without hindering the rest of the pages that I want.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14759635, 5 years agoIt's the best popup blocker I've used so far and it catches unwanted new tabs also which great, I've seen junk sneak through that way before.

- Rated 5 out of 5by drunk, 5 years agoOne of the best popupblockers for firefox ! Just because he can block - new tab -, that makes it very effective adblocker. It completes with strict popup blocker. Cheers for developer.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14581251, 5 years agoHas ALL the features that are missing in "Strict Pop-Up Blocker" including whitelists
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14160838, 5 years agoDoes what it should - blocks a lot of unwanted popups without calling those most annoying messages 'Disable your adblocker or you won't see anything'.
However when I want to open a new browser window (via it is quite annoying this also gets handled as 'unwanted popup'. I have to disable the popup or at least the 'block new window' feature to get my second browser windows. I consider this a bug that should be ironed out.Developer response
posted 3 years agoIn the latest Version 2.1 you can enable "New Window Allowlist" which should fix the issue. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14423113, 5 years ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14403342, 6 years agoI use a mac version of firefox if that matters. This add-on would get five stars, but it prevents you from opening new windows on your own. If I tell firefox to open a new window it just closes immediately. I have to temporarily disable it in order to open a second window.

I have some pop-ups that are full screen only, and I cannot get to the icon to choose Add to Blacklist. Other than this, I like the blocking ability, especially when watching streaming videos.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Nero Redwolf, 6 years agoThe blacklist and whitelist constantly empty themselves after I add an entry to either of them.

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH DEV - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13893631, 6 years agoBlocks everything thrown at it so far. Even blocks new windows (Finally a single instance add-on!!!). All other popup blockers have allowed pop-unders. Works perfectly with ublock origin.
White and Black lists are also included.
Many Thanks for developing the best blocker available.Developer response

- Rated 3 out of 5by Phoenix_IV, 6 years ago* Error: Blocks all new windows, even when clicking "open link in new window" or opening a new window from the Firefox main menu! (if enabled global)
* Good to use by putting certain sites on the black-list.
* Minor: When a pop-up was blocked and I click "allow once" via the add-on symbol, it does not open the pop-up, but starts the "all pop-ups allowed for 20 seconds" countdown. If that is what the button does, why change its label to "allow once"?
Result: Simple add-on. Still helps. Will continue using.
* Idea: Implement per-host settings
* Suggestion: Option to block pop-ups / tabs from other hosts than the current - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13536436, 6 years agoI've tried 5 popup blockers since Mozilla forced this update on us and my old one stopped working. This is the only one I've tried that actually works and has so far blocked 100% of popups on video sites absolutely rife with dodgy popups.
However it is unfortunately a little... too effective and will disable your ability to right click to open new tabs or windows unless you whitelist those sites or click allow after trying to open it - neither of which are overly practical for normal browsing habits. So it definitely needs to be improved to be able to tell the difference between deliberate user actions and automated popups. I've ended up setting it to allow all new tabs but block all new windows since most popups are new windows anyway and I rarely right click and open in new window instead of new tab.
It's a bit of a compromise but it works. Frankly I'm amazed that Mozilla would force an update disabling out of date addons and still not include a popup blocker that actually works as a base feature of the browser. The very first popup I saw on a video site after updating Firefox and losing my old blocker was obvious malware disguised as a Firefox update with a page that could not be closed due to dialog popups and it is easy to see how people could be caught out by something like that. This add on makes the internet safe and usable once again...
EDIT: I've just noticed that with 'Block new windows' checked I can't even open a new instance of Firefox from a desktop icon without temporarily disabling the blocker. With it turned off nothing is blocked even when set to 'smart'. I don't know what smart is supposed to do - as mostly it will allow me to open new tabs with middle mouse or right click menu but every now and then it will prevent me doing so forcing me to turn it off. Really needs some improving. - Rated 5 out of 5by delicacy, 6 years agoHi, i'm on ff44, because it's the only one supporting all past addons that are still needed, i cannot update or i lose 10 or more addons functionalities. it would be nice if you could add compatibility for ff44.
