- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12863709, 6 years agoThis is fantastic. For a while this has been my goto printing method.
I discovered finally the "text" button that allows me to add some spacing to tweak pagination. It would be helpful to be able to edit interactively more easily, and from the preview; that being said, this is a very, very nice addition to firefox. - Rated 4 out of 5by orange, 6 years agofunction to delete the unmarked rest while editing is broken at some sites like this: http://bit.ly/2ruRVY0, it used to work. ff 59 x64. besides a usefull addon. thanx

- Rated 4 out of 5by reikred, 7 years agoYour other addon SavePageWE has an excellent feature that would extremely useful also in PrintEditWE: The text macros %domain%, %date% and %time%. These are used as selectable prefix/suffix patterns in the generated filename.
Having the same feature in PEWE would be beyond awesome. It is highly useful to be able to insert domain/date/time into the (pdf) filename to be printed.
EDIT: IGNORE THIS PART: If macros could be inserted BEFORE the final .pdf of the filename, even better (same goes for .html in SPWE, by the way). CORRECTION: .html is already correctly placed at the end of the name, ignore that part, SORRY!
Perhaps this would be a relatively simple enhancement via code reuse? I'll also email you this in case you don't read reviews that much.
Heck, while I'm at I'll even ask for an option to replace spaces with hyphens (-)(or programmable character), in filenames, although I can also easily manage that with a perl script I have after downloading. Just a mild suggestion ;-).Developer response
posted 7 years agoIn Save Page WE, the text macros (%domain%, %date% and %time%) can be inserted either before the filename (using the Prefix option) or after the filename before the '.html' extension (using the Suffix option). - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12925322, 7 years ago

posted 7 years agoThis problem is caused by a long-standing bug in Firefox that only allows the first page (or first few pages) of some web pages to be previewed or printed. If you disable Print Edit WE and then use ‘File > Print Preview’, you will see that the problem happens without Print Edit WE.
However, you can use the ‘Fix Page Breaks’ command (on the 'Tools' button menu) in Print Edit WE to work around this Firefox bug on many web pages. - Rated 4 out of 5by Sean Ryan, 7 years agoA very useful extension.
*** Feature Request ***
Add an Option: "Toolbar button initial action" 1) Edit 2) Preview
Currently the initial view is always Edit, but I'd prefer Preview because I'll only want to edit after I see how the default printout appears. On a simple page, I'm likely to to move straight from Preview to Print without the need to Edit. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13691037, 7 years agoClean implementation.
Allows you to edit a page, save the result as either html or pdf or print it.
Only issue is that it will sometime try to print things that don't show up on the page.
You can get around this by delete except and/or editing the html after saving it though.Developer response

- Rated 4 out of 5by Galen, 7 years agoI think this is a really handy extension.
But I think it's pretty lame to show advertising in your sample screen shots... :-\ - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13183896, 7 years agoI would rate Print Edit WE 5 stars EXCEPT FOR ONE PROBLEM...In the print preview screen, the caption at the top always say page 1 of 1 regardless of whether there are 5 or 10 or more total pages in the preview. Fix that and I will rate it a 5 star app!!!

- Rated 4 out of 5by POMartell, 7 years agoI am using this for the first time, and it is proving to be very useful, BUT there is one obvious thing that I am sure it can do, but I cannot find how to do it.
So as I cut out stuff I do not want to print, the number of pages should get fewer, BUT NOT ALWAYS. I use the properties function to see that there are hard page breaks that are preventing the reduction of number of pages.
I have tried different ways to get rid of the hard page breaks, but have not been successful.
Can you please explain in SIMPLEST WAY POSSIBLE how to get rid of all the original page breaks. Need very detailed, step-by-step explanation please. Thank you!! - Rated 4 out of 5by pcb95109, 7 years agoI would like to disable warning "Purge may change page layout ... ... Do you want to purge elements in this page?". How can I do it.

posted 7 years agoThis is not possible in the current version (20.0) of Print Edit WE, but will be considered for a future enhancement - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13330951, 7 years agoFirefox 56 Print Edit doesn't work (OK work.... my mistake)
- Rated 4 out of 5by mjfa, 7 years agoThis app works great on windows, but not on ubuntu linux. It only saves a blank txt file on ubuntu linux. Any idea why? The windows version is fine. Will update to 5 stars if the linux version is fixed. However it may be a problem with the browser and not the app.
Update: I am using Firefox Beta on both windows and ubuntu. - Rated 4 out of 5by Nodrog, 7 years agoFollowing the update to v19.3 there is a problem with the toolbar button becoming unresponsive after the first click to enter the "preparing" stage, thereafter it is only possible to continue with "editing/suspend editing" by right-clicking on the button and using the context menu.
