- Rated 5 out of 5by AndyL964, 6 years agoAccidentally reported this add-on for abuse... so sorry about that. But anyway...
Thanks for making this extension! It's got great UI (especially the colourful buttons) and is filled with features and customizations, and best of all: no more importing/exporting for saved sessions; very ingenious of you to make use of Firefox's Sync feature!
I would really appreciate it if you could add drag-and-drop support (for manually reordering sessions/tabs from a specific session) in addition to the multi-selection support (which would be awesome if you want to save/open/delete individual tabs/sessions) that others have requested in their reviews!
Also, I was wondering if you would be adding support for Firefox on mobile (and maybe even Chrome) anywhere in the future. I currently use TabCloud on Chrome, which I wished the developer would add support for Firefox Quantum, so it would be really nice if this add-on had cross-browser support. If not, even if it's just support for Firefox on mobile, it would be great!
And also, it may just be me, but I find it a bit ugly how the text can appear under the star and x buttons in the search bar, but maybe that's just me.
Edit: Thanks for the quick and detailed reply.
Feel free to take your time adding the features; the extension is already amazing as it is right now. I'm not a very experienced dev yet, so I wouldn't know if how difficult adding support for Chrome is, but either way, I really do appreciate how you're doing all this for the community.
And I see your point... it's a lot of work to code a completely separate UI just for the mobile platform. Considering how big the PC version one was, it'll definitely be difficult to fit everything onto such a small screen. Thank you for mentioning it, though, and for the suggestion. It's not very ideal, but at least it's also not terribly difficult to access the sessions, but it is still quite annoying to have to open each tab individually.
I see, I'm glad I pointed it out then. I actually do give my sessions really descriptive names sometimes, so maybe you're right about how you might have missed it.
Anyway, it should be me who's thanking you for taking your time to reply, and for your dedication. I'm looking forward to any and all the future updates and features, and I wish you good luck on your journey!... Oh, and also, congrats on being one of the three winners for the extensions challenge!Developer response
posted 6 years agoThanks a lot for the detailed feedback. Really glad you like it.
Regarding features:
- probably I missed to add that to the feature list but drag-and-drop support for reordering tabs will definitely be implemented (as soon as the next minor release 3.1.0)
- multi-selection is a little bit more complex to implement it right now so I'm not sure if I can make it available at the same time but I definitely want that feature as well and it will be added for sure asap
- Do I plan a version for Chrome... more or less yes... but at the same time this is not really a business model for me so since I don't get anything from it I don't really intend to promote Chrome over Firefox but the other way around. Inter-browser vendor syncing (to have the same sessions on Chrome and Firefox) is definitely not possible unless a third-party sync functionality is used (like XMarks was before closing down just a few days ago). Otherwise, you will have to manually make sure you sync them or treat them as 2 completely distinct ecosystem and use each one independently. So yes... I do have plans for Chrome as well, but for the moment Firefox is my priority (and will always be because the of the community).
- Support for Firefox on mobile... well that's a little complex to do. The problem is that I have to write a complete new UI experience and even then it may not be that easy to create something useful. The good part... till I can figure out a way to add support for Android you still have all your sessions as bookmarks under Bookmark/Desktop Bookmarks/Session Sync. Not the ideal UI... but at least you have all of them.
- [text under images] No... that's not just ugly... it's definitely stupid of me for not observing it. Usually I don't do long searches and I'm not bothered by it so I might missed that case. I'll have a fix for it in the next release.
If you want to request more features or provide other details please feel free to do that on the Github development page https://github.com/ReDEnergy/SessionSync/issues or just contact me directly via email (open the help page of the addon -> top right corner you can find a feedback button with my address mail)
Again, thanks for the detailed feedback. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13808047, 6 years ago

posted 6 years agoThanks for the feedback. I believe it's a valid idea so I'll try to add an option to do that in next updates. - Rated 5 out of 5by nickclarkson, 6 years agoI have 1 issue; auto-save doesn't appear to work for me. I have it enabled, set to every 300 seconds, but it's not saving any sessions for me. That aside, this addon still worth 5 stars, as every other addon (except the "old" Session Manager") has had real issues. I just manually save every so often now. I like how it uses bookmarks, because they're saved/synching already.
UPDATE: Hi, thanks for the quick response. The issue is a non-issue; I wrongly assumed the sessions were saved in the "Sessions" tab, but I think if I'm right, and from from reading your explanation, that's only the manually saved sessions. The auto-saved session is under the History tab. I think that's what confused me :) I see it now anyway; I just closed FF and then opened and then went to History, and the last session was there (i.e. the previousl current session). I think I was thinking it worked like other similar addons. Excellent addon, tyvm.Developer response
posted 6 years agoThanks for feedback and for the nice review even though you seem to have some issues.
I'm not really sure what could be the problem in your case. I think that I quite failed to explain how the auto-saving functionality is implemented and that might create the confusion that saving is not happening. First of all: auto-saving will rewrite the same saving slot and not create a new one each 300 seconds (or whatever time you set). So after 20 minutes, you won't have 4 saving slots but actually the same one updated withing the last 5 minutes. A saving slot is actually created only you open the browser. (If you close the browser and the open it again you will find the previous session saved there and a new one called Current Session which will be used for all the saves from when you restarted the browser) As I don't really use the auto-saving feature that much (I actually disable it for myself) I probably fail to understand how it may be perceived by other user. The way I implemented felt right for me but I've seen some addons that actually keep a copy for each save point so I assume that the behavior I implemented might be unusual or not that useful for some people. I will try to provide some options to configure the auto-saving just the way each user expects it...
I'll try to provide an improved auto-saving experience (as well as better documentation) as soon as possible within the update. Thanks again. - Rated 5 out of 5by SakisX, 7 years agoPerfect tool ! Very easy and beautiful gui .
Hope Mozilla will integrate it to Firefox soon !
Thank you very much mr. Gabriel!Developer response
posted 7 years agoThanks you as well for the support and for the nice review.
I don't think that Firefox will ever integrate it :D. Yes it might be useful for a lot of people but that's why addons exist, and of course, it's actually better like this, in a way... Because I can expand and update the addon with many new features without being limited by some specific rules or direction. I have a lot of ideas (I would say good ones) and also lot's of requests that I look forward to implement. Of course, I will try my best to offer more options but at the same time keep the UI and UX as clean as possible. You can take a look over here and in case you have any recommendation I can definitely say that I take into consideration community feedback new features.
https://github.com/ReDEnergy/SessionSync/issues - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 6754360, 7 years agoI think UX is pretty important when it comes to a session manager. Really like this add-on's style. Sync functionality is great. Developer seems responsive. Hopefully this add-on will continue to be updated :)

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13953555, 7 years agoI just wanted an extension to save and restore the session to save time all days when I start my computer. This extension fulfills my expectations. Thanks.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13903678, 7 years agoBest bookmark/session/tab management add-ons till date.
But still need some improvements and options.
1. Option to show Small preview of saved tabs
2. Multiple selection of saved tabs to restore instead of all.Developer response
posted 7 years agoThank you for the review as well as for providing feedback. Regarding the requested features: I already have in plan to add support for multiple selection (soon) as for the saved tabs preview. I need to figure out a good solution for it, since bookmarks storage does not support adding additional storage information, real-time preview might not be as fast as it should and any kind of additional storage that's not inside the bookmarks API would be a little problematic for syncing and caching. I have some ideas but definitely is not something really easy to implement, but I can see why it would be helpful, so If I can find a good solution I will try to add this as well.
Thanks for using the addon. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13880292, 7 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Nicholas, 7 years agoBest session manager in a long long time. I love the friendly UI and the ease of using the add-on.
My only suggestions is, implementing the ability to export and import the saved sessions. For those who do not use the sync service.
But regardless if added to future builds or not, this is a very impressive looking add-on. Well doneDeveloper response
posted 7 years agoGlad that you like the addon and also, thank you for the great rating.
Regarding the ability to export and import saved sessions, theoretically it's possible and I might add it in the feature but because the WebExtensions is still limited and I can't truly import bookmarks with it may create lots of problems for anyone using Firefox Sync.
That being said, somehow you can still export all your bookmarks right now and those do contain the saved sessions but also all your other bookmarks. I'll see what I can do regarding this feature. I might find some solution after all, maybe by using the Bookmarks Import feature and not something through the addon API it might work. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 9935454, 7 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Matt, 7 years agoThis is the best session manager I've used by far. The attention to detail shines through, it's completely unobtrusive and easy to use... with no lack of features.
In addition to this, the developer, Gabriel is very responsive and wasted no time in porting this to Firefox Quantum when users asked!Developer response
posted 7 years agoThank you for the nice words and the positive review. Now... I only need to make sure it remains the best one :), with many improvements and features.
