- Rated 4 out of 5by Bill de Haan, 7 years agoVery nice and configurable.
After the March 26th update, however, the date/time now appear as "Invalid Date". Since there's no configuration for the date/time (other than display type), it's likely a new bug introduced in the latest build.
Other than that, it's great. Useful and informative.
2018-03-28: I ran the update function, and now "Invalid Date" has been replaced with (hold your breath here):
Invalid Date
{hour, plural, =0 {Sleep well} =1 {Sleep well} =2 {Sleep well} =3 {Rise and shine} =4 {Rise and shine} =5 {Rise and shine} =6 {Good morning} =7 {Good morning} =8 {Good morning} =9 {Good morning} =10 {Hello} =11 {Hello} =12 {Hello} =13 {Hello} =14 {Good afternoon} =15 {Good afternoon} =16 {Good afternoon} =17 {Good afternoon} =18 {Good evening} =19 {Good evening} =20 {Good evening} =21 {Good evening} =22 {Good night} =23 {Good night} }
Is there any changed permission or back end that a firewall might be affecting this?
Firefox Portable, 59.0.2 (64-bit)
2018-03-29: Hi, yes, I updated both Firefox and Tabliss before posting. Now, it's getting more interesting. As mentioned, it's a portable Firefox instance. When I run it at home, I now get the time properly. At work, I get "Invalid Date" again. That's why I'm wondering if there's some external dependency that may be being blocked.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHi Bill, sorry about that issue. It has now been fixed! Everything should work correctly when Firefox downloads the patched version.
Edit: Did you update Tabliss? You can do this by going to Addons > Right clicking Tabliss > Clicking "Find Updates"
Edit2: There aren't any external dependencies, but the OS does provide the time through the browser. Have you manually selected a timezone or is it set to automatic? Please email me at support@tabliss.io, as this seems to be a new issue I haven't encountered yet. - Rated 4 out of 5by Jacques Paganel, 7 years agoProblems with Firefox 59. Settings are erased each time Firefox shuts down.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Yan St-a, 7 years agoNice add-on but looking forward to see features like:
- customizable widgets (size and position);
- advanced "quick links" (so they really look like speed dial and sync with those pinned in default home page/new tab)
- more preferences for weather widget (ability to change service provider e.g. Accuweather, Foreca etc.) - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13618086, 7 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13774509, 7 years agoI'd really like to be able to set a custom homepage, and only use Tabliss when I open a new tab. The pictures are great but without being able to keep my homepage- I don't think I'll be using this extension for long.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Raan Joseph, 7 years agoI suggest two releases, one that overrides the homepage and one that does not, if that is possible. Otherwise I love this add on and await any further development that allows me to use it without overriding my homepage.

posted 7 years agoHi! Sorry this is a Firefox restriction on web extensions. If this restriction is ever removed in the future, I'll add it in as a option :) - Rated 4 out of 5by Steven, 7 years agoSimple yet elegant.
But the part that takes over your homepage is kinda inconvenience.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHi! I have had a few comments from both sides of the homepage debate. Some people really like Tabliss showing when they first open Firefox, others have custom homepages and only want Tabliss showing on new tabs. If it was something I could give as an option/setting I would! But unfortunately Firefox only lets me do one or the other :(
At the moment I'm thinking I'll release the homepage override and instead provide instructions in Tabliss for a workaround for people who still want to use Tabliss as their homepage. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13444207, 7 years agoI really love the look of this extension, i just wish we could move the position of the widgets we place.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13431703, 7 years agoVery nice addon for a welcoming new tab page... however i have to give it 4 stars. The add-on forces itself as the homepage, and you have to disable the entire add-on to restore your homepage.
A suggestion would be to allow an option to disable overriding the homepage, i personally would only like this add-on to modify the newtab pages. So it only gets 4/5 from me.Developer response
