- Rated 5 out of 5by AmbroseCadwell, 4 years agoThis add-on works for downloading videos from an embedded Vimeo-based source of the sort where you can't reach it via right-clicking or 'inspecting element' etc., the sort that a lot of these sorts of programs miss. Very pleased.
Make sure you click on the 'settings' wheel next to each video that comes up on the list to make sure you have the highest quality version of the video selected before you download- If I'd recommend any changes to the creators of this add-on it'd be to make the highest-quality version e.g. 1080p the default selected when a batch of the same video is detected as a single item like this.Developer response

Usually the highest quality is selected by default for streaming protocols that support such option. Except the cases when it was imposed directly by the website options. In further version of AVD the quality selection will be available right under the title of detected video without having to select it in the menu. - Rated 5 out of 5by Edward Morden, 4 years agoThis is the most reliable video download utility I have ever used. It works with all sorts of odd video hosting sites and sites that actively try to prevent you from downloading like YouTube. My only complaint is that there is no Linux native app so you can only use this on Windows. Mozilla should do a code review and add this to their list of trusted/recommended apps.

Continuously solving current problems, our developers are simultaneously working on a new cross-platform Native Application that is planned to release in the 5th AVD version. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16547653, 4 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Alinivar, 4 years agoThe add-on and companion application function perfectly for me, no download limits like the video downloader I use, bug free, its ad free which I didn't expect to see and it doesn't redirect to a website like y2mate or some derivative to download the video. The quality of the video is based on the selected quality that is playing in YouTube so change it to something like 360p/720p maybe if you are saving on HDD/SSD space. It also registers some memes I get on Discord for download too funnily enough.
The only thing I could nitpick is the file format it comes out in on YouTube is .mkv which is a small price to pay for free video downloading as all you need is VLC player or an online file converter to .mp4 or .mp3 if you really need that and you are set. An internal converter for output to mp4/mp3 would be the icing on the cake but as far as I'm concerned this suits my needs well enough.Developer response

- Rated 4 out of 5by Testnick, 4 years agoWorks fine. Would be nice and logical to add (a converter although im well aware this would just cause problems) predefined output to mp4
