by CanIregisterThisTime, 10 months agoI've been using this for a little over a week. It doesn't and never has worked correctly, really, but the other similar extension is no longer maintained. I cannot see the controls, cannot change the speed of videos, and most bizarre, the volume boost field in the options changes by itself, right before your eyes.

posted 9 months agoWhat version are you using? A few issues have been fixed right recently. The settings changing on their own I need to figure out how to fix sorry about that. It only happens on Firefox. You can email me at support@yt-enhancr.dev I would like to try resolve your issues.
Edit 1: I fixed the options changing by itself in the next update this will be fixed. If you edit your review with more info on what isn't working I can try to help. If a feature has a bug I would like to fix it.

- Rated 3 out of 5by dr_white, 6 months agoWhere are the controls? I don't see any menu or buttons. I even set all the buttons to appear below the viewer but there is still nothing. I also set the mouse wheel to control volume (which is the main thing I wanted) and that works, but I don't see any other part of the extension.
Reply: I don't see any way to activate the menu. The "hover" option suggests you make it appear by mousehovering, presumably over the video window. This doesn't work, and I don't know what the "click" option means. I've tried switching to that and nothing changes...I've tried clicking the video but that just pauses as usual. The UI is very cryptic. Is there anywhere we can get support other than through reviews?Developer response
posted 6 months agoThe individual buttons need to be enabled for them to appear. The button placement configuration is just to change where those buttons appear.
edit: In a future update I can make the button placement setting for each button not enabled if the button itself isn't enabled. I understand where some confusion could be coming from.
edit 1: The menu needs to have buttons in it to be enabled, those features that add buttons need to be enabled in the settings.

I'll change the review with my experience using the extension, could take a while since the experience can be too good and make me forget!
Edit: after quite some time i had no bugs at all and i'm liking it pretty much! the playback speed buttons could work more like the competition one though, thank you!!Developer response
posted 7 months agoThank you for reviewing. I will I'm currently working on a new release to fix a few bugs.
Edit: version 1.24.2 is available with a bug fix for pause background players feature and volume boost feature with "per video" mode
Edit 1: thank you for your kind review. I don't know the competition extension and even if I did I want to try to be as original as possible. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13657403, 7 months agoVery good add-on. It's early in development, but works generally well, it's aesthetically pleasing, and the author is actively improving it and fixing bugs -- I'm glad the bug I reported on the volume boost was fixed so quickly. Can't ask for more. Btw, current version 1.24.1 seems to not be able to copy JPEG images to clipboard -- file saving works fine!
Good work. Cheers.Developer response

Developer response
posted 8 months agoI appreciate your honest feedback, and I'm sorry to hear that the extension fell short of your expectations. To better address your concerns, could you provide specific details on what aspects you find unsatisfactory or lacking? Understanding your experience in more detail will help me focus on improvements and ensure a better user experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your insights.
As for the other extension, my extension has no relation to it. I think the extension had some major features broke. I haven't used it.
PS: Thank you for apologizing for your rude comment. It's fine I understand. - Rated 5 out of 5by Renega, 8 months ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Rage the Beast, 8 months agoIt does work temporarily—with limited features. The settings get reset every time I use Firefox, though. Even then, it never remembers the volume level. I hope to see this extention improve with more features. I miss having something to declutter YouTube.

posted 8 months agoThank you for sharing your experience. I apologize for the inconvenience with settings resetting. I'm currently attending to a personal commitment, but once I'm free, I'll prioritize investigating and resolving this issue to enhance the extension's functionality.
If you could kindly email me a video showcasing the extension's behavior not aligning with your expectations, it would greatly assist in the troubleshooting process. Your input is invaluable, and I appreciate your understanding as we work towards a solution. - Rated 3 out of 5by idsks111, 8 months agoAfter opening 6-7 tabs, audio doesn't work in at least 1 or 2 tabs, I have to reload it to work again. And please add buttons to increase, decrease, reset speeds.

posted 10 months agoI think you are confusing my extension with an extension by mrfdev https://www.mrfdev.com/enhancer-for-youtube My extension has never had a mini player feature but I plan on adding one eventually. - Rated 5 out of 5by Arden, 10 months agoThis is a good extension and it does what I need it to with a minimum of fuss. It would be improved if the Maximize Player button wasn't hidden behind an options menu you need to hover over, though, or even possible to set up as automatic. It's basically why I'm even using this extension at all and making it easier and faster to turn on and off would be much more convenient.
edit: I am enjoying the new improvements to this. I wrote a new review, because I don't know if you'll be notified of changes to the old review, but it has been much better since the update. I would recommend renaming "video history" to something more informative, though. It took me a while to figure out where this annoying "continue video?" pop-under and shader were coming from. It is not what I thought it would do. Otherwise this is very good work.Developer response
posted 10 months agoThanks for your review! I plan on adding a setting for the video history that will allow for automatic resuming and also re-designing the resume confirmation to fit in with the player better.
Edit: version 1.22.0 includes automatic resume option - Rated 5 out of 5by –Phase–, 10 months agoPretty decent replacement for the Enhancer for Youtube extension that went down. I mainly only used that extension for its automatic theater mode and automatic quality adjustment feature, and this extension has those features as well so it works as a replacement in my case, at least until the original enhancer extension comes back, if it ever does. Thanks a lot to the developer for providing this extension.
