posted 8 months agoHello,
Sadly, browsers doesn't allow extensions to run in the PDF files anymore, more info:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1454760
Theoretically, it should work if you would use some online PDF viewer.
But I've just tried a few and none of them worked as expected. Seems like they use "canvas" to render the content so my extension can't access the words there.
But it does work in the Mozilla online PDF viewer demo, so it should be possible:
https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html
I wish I had more time for experiments, but sadly I'm currently quite busy with my other extensions. I'll put it on my todo list so when I start working on a new version, I look into it.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Alexander A., 6 months agoI wish there was a way to group my rules, especially if groups could have their own settings that override their child rules settings.
Example: Group: "Some online marketplace" [domain:example.com] -> Nested group: “Rating 5” [color:green] -> Rule: "Some product" [expression:"Some product", remaining settings: …]Developer response
posted 6 months agoHello,
Thank you for the feedback and specific example!
I do plan to add groups support for some time, but every time I start planning the architecture, I get stuck with some huge obstacle that requires a huge redesign (not just visual but also data storage and synchronization).
Also, I'm currently super busy with my other addons, so this one will have to wait a bit.
I'll see what I can do when I get back to this one.

posted 7 months agoHello,
Sadly, this is a browser limit and they don't want to increase it:
https://github.com/w3c/webextensions/issues/510
I plan to implement custom synchronization, but that will take some time.
Note that you can change the storage to "local" which is unlimited, but not synchronized/backed up, to other devices. See Settings / Options / Storage .

Juraj Mäsiar- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18334820, 8 months agoIngenious and amazing solution for highlighting keywords (customer names on the WC orders page) and adding a comment about them.
I was hoping to be able to synchronise data with another PC without needing to sync Firefox. Perhaps the possibility of defining the path of the local backup?
Thanks!Developer response
posted 8 months agoHello,
The path to auto-save is not really possible, addons doesn't have direct access to drive, apart from creating a file in the default "Downloads" folder.
I plan to add some kind of remote synchronization, although I'm not sure when exactly (I've build too many addons and many of then needs upgrades :)).

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 3 out of 5by Maddy, 8 months agoI would really love this add-on if highlighting would also work in PDFs. I want to use it mainly for scientific research to faster identify relevant papers. The automatic and very fine tunable keyword highlighting combined with the view on the right hand side showing where the highlights are is EXACTLY what I am looking for. Maybe I missed the relevant setting but changing to highlight in every page did not fix it.
Adding the PDF functionality would make it a really powerful tool for a (maybe almost every) researcher. Please, please add this!
P.S. I tried to find another way of contacting you but this is the only way I could find.Developer response

- Rated 5 out of 5by Tutenstein, a year agoAn amazing addon that works in Firefox Android as well that I have been waiting for a long time. The one thing that I've noticed that can and should be improved is if the side screen scroll highlight worked and behaved similar to the in browser highlight of Firefox app as the side screen highlight of the addon are longer and tend to block the words on that part of the screen and also clump together if there are many highlights on a page instead of being spread out. Otherwise an amazing addon that I think every Firefox user should have irrespective of the platform.

Was the icon missing in the toolbar?
Or was the item missing in the context menu?
Or both?

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 5 out of 5by Louis Cook, a year agoNeedless to say, this is a great extension. Especially when it comes to regular expression support, it's unbeatable. Because nowadays, it's hard to find a better extension with regular expression support in the Firefox Add-ons Store. Considering the color markers next to the right scrollbar, I think it's almost a replacement for Firefox's own FIND functionality.
Speaking of the color marker on the right, I know that its function is to make it easy for me to find the location of the highlighted text, but it doesn't seem to be horizontally aligned with the text content, specifically, any higher than the text highlighting.
Finally, the only suggestion I can make is that the "copy" search rule doesn't seem to work as expected. This is because when I want to copy rules from other pages, it always copies the links to the domains contained in the rules from the other pages, which results in the copied rules not being immediately applied to the current page I want. I might as well just copy the search text and create a new rule on a new page if I want to achieve my goal, but that seems a bit tedious.
I hope this is just a personal operational issue for me, and thanks again for the extension! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18126307, a year agoAddon stopped working this morning. All my settings remain, there's no sort of error displayed, just no functionality.

posted a year agoHello,
Try to restart Firefox or whole PC, that often helps with random issues like this.
If it doesn't help, then backup your settings to a file (from the Settings / Import export tab). Then uninstall it, restart Firefox and install it back.
Also make sure the main ON/OFF switch in the main window is not set to OFF :)

posted a year agoHello,
The Firefox synchronized storage has only 100KB of space so it can run out if you have too much data stored.
But you can switch it to "Local" storage which is unlimited. You can do this in Settings / Options / Storage.
Just make sure to backup your data one in a while.
