Reviews for Bitwarden Password Manager
Bitwarden Password Manager by Bitwarden Inc.

by Katharta, 4 days agoThe new update is simply horrible. Text is hilariously large for no reason. Edit button was moved. Fill button instead of just clicking the thing. Actions that used to take 1 or 2 clicks take annoyingly longer to do now. Change just for the sake of it is bad. How could this possibly have went through testing/feedback before it got pushed to users?

It gives me peace of mind knowing Bitwarden is storing my sensitive info, passwords, and passkeys securely in an encrypted vault. Being able to sync passwords across all of my devices with Bitwarden is a nice bonus as well. I 100% recommend Bitwarden.

Die Erweiterung ist nicht ganz so gut gelungen, wie die App, da sie auf dem Computer oft lange lädt und keine Biometrie unterstützt. Jedoch nutze ich das automatische Hinzufügen von Login-Daten.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Saimon, 21 hours agoIt used to work so well but recent update broke my premium feature. Not the OTPT don't work. I have to install older version for it to work. I created a ticket with them but they don't know if it will ever get fixed.

- Rated 1 out of 5by justsomereviewer, a day agoSeriously the developers just need to spend some time seeing how nice 1Password works and looks, and then try to make Bitwarden suck 100x less.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18807293, a day agoThe recent update to the addon has introduced a huge UX degredation, instead of a single click to get the password to fill in a desktop application login prompt you now have to hit the smaller copy button and then accurately hit the copy password from the selection box options.
Also, the cursor doesn't automatically start in the search box after authentication anymore, this is really annoying as it forces me to every morning log in and then with the mouse select the search box so that I can get to my email password entry, so that I can then have to select the copy button where I then have to now select the copy password so that I can log into my email because my corporate email account times out authentication after 12 hours (and sometimes, for some reason, multiple times per day).
Also, you now have to hit the small fill button instead of the whole item to get the browser to fill in the details. This is a reverse of what you used to have to do as now clicking the item results in the screen to view the information in the item where you can edit from. I use this far less than I use filling the details so I find this also a big step backwards in UX and looking at the recent reviews it seems clear that they have introduced a lot of UX friction that users are not happy with.Developer response

The browser plugin redesign ruined it.
It looks shinier, but everything about it is worse. It is slower to load, more cumbersome to navigate, less efficient at showing info (giant text, buttons, headers, fluff), and buggy.
The classic UI was nearly perfect, so I'm sad and frustrated that this daily-use tool is suddenly so much worse. - Rated 4 out of 5by aDena, 2 days agoBitwarden is great and free, however if devs could look into the constant password generation happening in background, we don't need to have a generated password every 5sec permanently while we don't use the app, make no sense and extra calculation for nothing, also make it extremely harder to find recently generated ones we accidently lost from clipboard

- Rated 1 out of 5by Wick3DRebel, 3 days agoThe new UI looks nice, but it often doesn't work properly in Firefox. Example: when creating a new login, toggling between "password" and "passphrase" does nothing! The selected tab will highlight, but the specific functionality for that password type doesn't render. Opening and closing from the toolbar icon seems to cause the extension to hang for a while. If I can manage to generate a new password - saving the login entry sometimes doesn't work and just hangs with the button disabled.

posted 3 days agoHi. I am having trouble reproducing the issue you are mentioning about the password generator. Are you able to reproduce this every time? Could you give me specific instructions? - Rated 1 out of 5by Damian B, 3 days agoPassword autofill doesn't work on some sites... For example, enter login: testtt1234 and click "Next" on the site: login.ingbank.pl
In the older addon version (2024.9.1) everything works fine. - Rated 5 out of 5by Bobby, 4 days ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by GammaRay, 4 days agoOne of the best free password managers. Allows you to save logins and other personal information in several different formats, and add custom fields to any login (which can be visible or hidden). This is a "must have" feature for me that some other password managers lack.
My only complaint is that after a recent update, Bitwarden has been a bit buggy, and sometimes you have to save logins twice after editing them before the updated information shows up. However, I mostly use the desktop app so idk if this issue is common for the browser extension too. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15092367, 4 days ago
