by ForeFix, 7 years agoAfter a lot of tests of other similar extensions, I find this one particularly well done, that's why i'm leaving this review. I love that it handles clicked links (different color once visited), contrarily to most of the other similar addons. I only found one doing this, and it's not open source, with less options. Here, you can choose several methods of darkening, and apply them to different part of the same website or domain (if the global setting breaks only some pages), by URL segments (domain, website, page, subpages, etc). I've not found this depth of settings in other addons. The customization of colors for different elements is easy and when some could say it's not as "fancy" as other addons, the interface is very clear and intuitive. And I also like that it is open source.
Developer, really well done. Your extension is the closest to perfection for what it does, imo.
Could you check if there is a way to darken the menu of firefox (left-click one, and when opening a folder of favorites in the favorites bar)? I'm afraid it's a limitation in Firefox Quantum, if you can't do anything about it, i totally understand. You have my 5 stars anyway :)
Edit: thanks for the reply and advice! I already have the dark themes enabled, I'll have to wait until Mozilla expand it to these areas of their browser.
Edit 2: oh, high contrast. Brutal, but indeed it works. Thank you for the tip! ;)

It's not possible to do this from an add-on. But I recommend you to 1) set Firefox theme to "Dark", 2) select dark theme in your OS (Windows: left Shift + left Alt + Print Screen, Linux: pick your favorite dark GTK 3 theme, for example, Adwaita Dark, macOS: you have to wait for Mojave).
UPD: the rest is rendered by your OS. So, see above.

- Rated 3 out of 5by blink435, 2 months agothis add on will cripple amazon prime video.. turns it into a slide show.. 1fps on a large screen .. and increasing fps as you shrink it to postage stamp. u cant use subtiltes cus they will obliterate the image.. it is caused by this add on.. disable the add on and prime video works fine. it only cripples prime no other streaming service (tubi pluto kokowa etc) Please note that you simply have to disable for this page (on amazon prime) you do not have to remove the add on.. other than that this add on seems to work as desired.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14805990, 2 months agoA very poorly made extension. I only tried this due to Dark Reader slowing down page loading but at least it doesn't break 99% of websites I visit. Guess I'm back to Dark Reader now....

- Rated 1 out of 5by Varniit, 3 months agoThis causes issues in webpage loading as the website or webpage loads in broken HTML format. If you have used it, then site loading causing issues and browser acts heavy in task manager and device starts to make noise. And if you disable it or uninstall it, then site loading and elements loads in broken format before taking over a min to load properly. Plus with Firefox browsers and Gecko-based browsers like Floorp browser, Zen browser, Waterfox, Librewolf, Iceraven, Mull, Fenix and versions over 130, this addon causes too many issues in site functionality. I request dev to update it for desktop and mobile users. Thanks.
