by Felpies, a year agoWorks as expected, adds a progress and volume slider underneath the videos, including reels, it's baffling that in this day and age Facebook expects you to lower you whole system or whole browser volume to not get your eardrums ruptured when watching a video, or that you need to rewatch it from the beginning to see an specific part of the video, oh well, that's enshitfication for you.
My only gripe with this addon is that when you reload the page the volume slider goes back to 0, but I think this is an limitation either of Firefox or Instagram's site.

- Rated 4 out of 5by fretno, 3 months agoWorks alright, at least there's a scrub bar which I have had no issue with so far. However, the volume keeps changing for some reason. Scroll down a bit and it sets the volume louder, scroll a little more it's quieter than you set, hover over the video and it get's even quieter, scroll back and it's louder than you set it to. Honestly feels like the volume slider is randomized. Very odd behavior. I'd like to help find the issue for the dev if possible, although I'm not too familiar with debugging in web development.

- Rated 3 out of 5by KorvinSilver, 5 months agoIt does work but it tends to make videos skip the first second or two. Not always, but often enough to be annoying.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Atlas, 8 months agoLovely add-on but why change the UI from the default browser player? The default browser player had more options (like open video in new tab option that I used quite frequently) compared to this new UI that not only looks worse but is less functional as well. Having to find an empty pixel in between the buttons to be able to right click to see other options significantly dampens the functionality.

posted 8 months agoHi Atlas,
Thanks for you review. There were some issues with the native browser behavior, I'm unable to change. Using a custom UI, I have full control over the player. I want to include as many missing feature, like speed-control in the UI, but this will take some time. To make everyone happy, the next update will include a option to switch between the custom or native UI. You can choose whatever fits your needs.
I'll find some time this weekend to finish and release the update. Until then, have a good time :-) - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17416068, 8 months agolatest UI update no longer allows you to use the advanced browser options by right clicking on the progress bar (speed, PiP and others)
mandatory downgrade 🤷🏻♂️Developer response

I had to build a custom UI to avoid some issues with the custom browser behavior. I'm working on re implementing these features in my custom UI again. Fullscreen will work in the next release, PiP and speed controls are planned. You will be able to select the controls, you want to see in the player bar via the extension-icon-menu.
Edit: I added a hotfix in v1.1.0: You can now right-click in between the control elements. Not the best solution, but is should help you until I'll implement more features.
