- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18662249, 2 months agoThe googlecloud voices are pretty good, but they don't play well with VPN (I have to update their permissions at least once per day). So be prepared for choppy robot voices, or having to do extra steps to use the add on every day.
It would also be nice if instead of having a separate popout window, it just highlighted the word it was reading on the webpage itself, with just pause/play and skip buttons. (Even better if I could click on the page and play from there instead of having to skip a bunch of the content to find where I want to resume listening)
All of that said, the add-on does read the pages for me, and once I confirm I'm not a robot the google voices are great. - Rated 4 out of 5by jgnetworksecurity, 2 months ago

Please do something read aloud is our only hope

- Rated 5 out of 5by farad.ai, 2 months agoi see a lot of low ratings because of the voice options. GO TO PIPER VOICES (Experimental)
there are so many good voices to install. Cori and Jenny_Dioco are the best IMO - Rated 5 out of 5by NEWMAN88FREEDOM, 2 months ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by numInt, 2 months agoThank you for the very nice add-on. it's very useful. But one thing as a sorry point is that the shortcut key is not editable for now. I have set it in the past, and it has been kept but it doesn't function. I can't find any buttons like 'Edit' despite that I can see the list of shortcut keys. Further, the shortcut key also doesn't work now(I have to 'click' the icon). Due to the settings of the FIrefox's security?
p.s. It seems like shortcut keys conflict among some add-ons in my choices. It can be resolved with the editor for the shortcut key if it works. - Rated 3 out of 5by Azarilh, 2 months agoGood 1: It detects text automatically.
Good 2: It highlights the sentence it's reading.
Problem 1: It's in a popup, instead of highlighting directly on the website.
Problem 2: Voices are trash for today's standards.
First problem is not a big deal, but the second problem is a deal breaker, with today's AI technology. Could it be possible to use Edge's AI voices? There's an addon that does that, but Read Aloud is a more advanced addon, really, the voices are the only real problem. - Rated 3 out of 5by PHAN NHAT THAU, 2 months ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by lynn, 3 months agoRead Aloud worked great for a few years but now it does not work. The spinner comes up and words get highlighted but that is all that happens.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16153649, 3 months agoI'm not sure how you screw up this plugin so badly. It use to work great, now it sounds terrible! I can barely understand what the robotic voice says and the best part is that you can't change it because there are about 2 million options in the drop-down and it takes 5 minutes to load after clicking on it.
