SponsorBlock is not a traditional ad blocker. It is for skipping parts of YouTube videos where the creator themselves talks about a sponsorship.

works surprisingly well even on niche videos. I really like that you can enable/disable things like interaction reminders and self promotion

Absolutely tanks performance when watching youtube videos. Finally narrowed it down to this plug-in. CPU temps spike to 90c+, thermal throttles and brings the performance down.

To dev: Please let me know if I can provide logs or something to help resolve this. This is a really handy extension but its unusable in its current state.

Device: mid-2014 Macbook Pro 13 inch.

Try disabling all user scripts. There are a few userscripts that end up tanking performance when combined with SponsorBlock such as "CPU tamer" which doesn't actually improve performance outside of SponsorBlock anyway anymore
