- Rated 2 out of 5by NormanFFox, 4 years agoFor whatever reason I can no longer just type in search phrases into duckuckgo.com in the main url bar with my custom settings. I simply want dark themed These options. (https://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html?name=duckduck+dark). along with unfiltered ad free results instead of blaring white in my duckuckgo search engine. I though it would be easy to tweak back to normal. This add-on seemed promising for that purpose, but now (Friday 4-23-2021) for whatever reason its flawed for me exactly the same way reviewer Noxanne said ith a 1 out of 5 star rating (11 days before me) is. All it did was send me to the customized duckduck page colored dark but without search results (as though I typed no search phrase at all! and just typed "duckduckgo.com" ). This add-on shouldn't even be necessary, but it sounds great if it works. Its obviously broken from some Upgrade of Firefox version 80something or maybe because I have he linux version? I don't know. Good luck developers.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Noxanne, 4 years agoI tried putting in "https://images.google.com" and all it did was send me to the default Google Image page, effectively making the whole add-on pointless. Then I put in "https://images.google.com/search?q=%s" as the address for the search engine and Firefox would not even react to me pressing Tab.
On top of that, developers should refrain from using programmer jargon when developing add-ons such as these. Extensions for web browsers should never require the user to manually type in things like "addons:extensions#search". There should be a button for when the user wants to check their list of installed search engines. - Rated 5 out of 5by Андрей Зверинцев, 4 years agoСпасибо большое, не знаю, что я делал бы без этого расширения!
- Rated 5 out of 5by dolorous_dude, 4 years agoThis should be the first thing you see when you click "Find more search engines" in the firefox preferences.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Jean Lo, 4 years agoA lifesaver, for those who need this functionality. Honestly, Firefox's handling of search engines is embarrassing.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13256199, 4 years agoCan't understand why such a simple thing such as adding as shorcut "https://example.org/search?q=%s" requires an add-ons.
Mozilla what are you doing!
Thanks for the add-ons, works great!. - Rated 5 out of 5by ArioSuren, 4 years agoGreat Addon. One question I have is is it possible to a custom search engine that searches the current site using Google? If possible can then skip installing add-ons for the task, would be great.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Aravzil, 4 years agoI love this extension and I've been using it for years now. I'm a sucker for this type of stuff and love to be able to quickly search where I want to with keywords :)
I do have a question for the author though: is it possible for the spaces in a search string not to be replaced by "+" but by a space. Because on some websites it messes up the search. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16703479, 4 years agoGreat tool to customise the search options and get a closer system to the Chrome search bar behaviour. Better than using the "Add a Keyword for this Search..." function as it gives a clear indication if the search engine is active and seems to be more reliable for me.
- Rated 5 out of 5by 51cent, 4 years agoIt does it's job perfectly well! There is nothing more you could ask for, when it comes to adding a custom search engine.
IMHO: Firefox should support this natively. - Rated 5 out of 5by freefrank, 4 years ago
