It's great. It's very adjustable and the sound is pretty transparent. It activates automatically and reliably, unlike many other sound boosting addons (that either don't self activate reliably or have to be manually activated every time). It also doesn't mess up Youtube's playback speed options, they work correctly, also unlike other volume boosting addons. It doesn't work on every site under the sun, but works for many major streaming and music sites.
The only problem is that there are some audio stutters (especially on Youtube). They don't happen often, but kinda annoying. In it's defense, this is a problem that other volume boosting addons also have, so maybe there's just no way to have it working perfectly.

An absolute must for any Firefox user!
This Audio compression extension add-on works amazingly well on a DELL XPS 13 Late 2018 (9370) with the default audio drivers installed.
I could not believe how good these made the built-in stereo speakers sound.
Phenomenal work on the DEV's side!
Get it while you can and mess around with the parameters until you get the desired outcome. - Rated 4 out of 5by Shyboy, 3 months ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16275961, 5 months agoPerfect, when listening to movies online this app lowers the volume of spikes, that is, weapon, loud music, explosions, etc., while keeping the dialogues at the same level. And also it has a functionality to boost sound, which makes it even better for audios with very loud sound.
- Rated 4 out of 5by AppleMango, 6 months agoEnabling this extension completely disables sound in some websites (like factorio.com). The sound only works when I open the video in a new tab. I have tried the 'none' preset too, but the sound only works when I disable the extension (either using the checkbox or using firefox). EDIT: Github issues shows that this is a Firefox problem, not an extension one. This problem can easily be fixed by disabling it for troublesome sites.

- Rated 5 out of 5by cvinker, a year ago99% sites I've ever used work with it. Set it to medium and forget it, all YouTube videos improved now that I'm not constantly turning volume up, down and up and down over and over again. Thanks!
- Rated 5 out of 5by bl0m5t3r, a year agoI use this plugin mostly on Youtube for gamestreams as i got used to FFZ on Twitch which has a build in compressor, this works great. Today i tried it for the first time on Kick.com, seemed to have a few muting issues but i got it working now and works similarly nice. I like the site specific presets a lot, well done.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17964329, a year agoworks okay when it works, but now it mutes audio on several sites unless i deactivate the extension entirely. might try again in the future but it's broken at the moment.

- Rated 5 out of 5by DrewDeer, 2 years agoIt's perfect for badly made and unbalanced videos on the internet (one speaker is louder than another in debates, volume drops/spikes etc). Also, I don't have Netflix but I know they usually buy films with mixes for cinema (its cheaper than paying for a new mix) which has huge dynamic range so this can maybe help you reduce it and save you many volume slider adjustments. Thank you very much.
- Rated 5 out of 5by David Glover, 2 years agoThank you so much for this. I got new speakers and couldn't use the loudness equalization setting for windows on them and was extremely bummed out. This solved that problem for me, huge life saver thanks a ton.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17628591, 2 years agoIt helps for sure, I needed it to listen to a round table with 4 participants who each have a different level varying from 10 to 15 DB (impression that the velocity is twice as strong or half as weak).
What is difficult is the setting without a VU meter, in order to "see" the lowest level to use it as an "uncompressed" reference, and to be able to "align" the compression of the strongest signals with the weakest. This would avoid "compressing" the signal too much, which would avoid increasing the background noise with the reverberations.
One thing that's missing is the signage and it's hard to understand, for example, if the ratio is 2:1-3:1 or 4:1 or if the attack is in milliseconds or whatever.
I managed to adjust it by ear and I don't need it often so it's fine for me, but for those who aren't too used to it, by reading the comments it seem it's not very easy for many.
It was a good idea to make this plugin, so thanks to the developer. Good job.
