Go to extension settings in Firefox and go to permission. There should be two toggles so make sure that both are on.
Update will be release soon with a few fixes. - Rated 5 out of 5by WenceslausII, a year ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18243607, a year agoThank you for a fresh idea on the subject. Works like a charm.
Changed to 4 stars just to call for attention, seems like there are ads during the playback that are not being skipped. Experienced only a couple of times. But it happens.Developer response

posted a year agoI suggest disabling any adblocker on YouTube. Thank you so much for the review. If you have any issues, join our subreddit for more info and details (link is on the website). - Rated 5 out of 5by MLC RIP, a year agoWorks flawlessly.
For some reason i like this one better than what i used to use (Adblocker ultimate, ublock).
btw seems to work on android mobile firefox too. no clue why anyone would do that but for those who refuse any mods, might be perfect solution
edit 26.08.2024. After few hiccups, now it works flawlessly again.Developer response
posted a year agoThank you a lot for leaving a review. Yeah, it works on Firefox mobile too, but I am currently exploring Android solutions that might work on YouTube Android app. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15557994, a year agoFantastic, works exactly as advertised, and is open-source. - Rated 5 out of 5by miguelk, a year agoThx for this, however, uBlock Origin already blocks ads in YouTube video. I'm not seeing any ads with uBlock installed. Maybe you can give me an example of a video with ads to test it.
Ok, I see, thx for the update on this issue with uBlock and YT.Developer response
posted a year agoIt's not that uBlock is not working, it's that it will stop working in the future. I am one of the users that had issues with uBlock on YouTube, and that's the main reason I made this. It is just a matter of time before it hits everyone using it. - Rated 5 out of 5by Jumper, a year agoI've seen it in action for the first time, and briefly saw the dreaded yellow line of an ad, in that microsecond I was in a state of desrepair, prepared for the worst, and suddenly the normal video comes back.
The ad got unceremoniously sidestepped, like a side road hoe that was accepted in the car for a certain amount of time, for a price that was willing to be paid, in exchange for a service that often accompanies pleasure, but now it has clearly overstayed it's initial welcome and it needs to be curbed out of the car.
tl;dr
“it just works"
Edit: I have come again the sadly report that youtube did detect the second attempt of skipping the ad, this message comes as a warning to the developer that it seems youtube has caught up to me using this plugin, I turn on again and will report any more detections.
- Third attempt successful.
- Fourth attempt unsuccessful.
Hi, guys it's me again (12/27/2023) I am going to go on a little rant here, but it's not about the addon. In this very afternoon I was in my normal state of mind, working, listening to music, in a perfectly okay mood, until microsoft, or windows 10 to be more specific decided to fuck up my world and suffer 2 fatal crashes back to back.
First crash I chose an option that would try to fix that current windows install didn't work, now that's all fine and dandy, however it gave me the choice of restoring the PC by reinstalling windows 10, it promised me that I would keep my files and that it MAY uninstall RECENT downloaded programs, I don't know if it did it on purpose or it was bad UI that made me select the wrong choice but, despite it keeping my other files, it has decided to clap every program I have ever installed on the pc, including firefox.
Now here's the kicker fellas, I didn't remember my firefox account password, which I had to reset, and in the process I lost all the data connected to the firefox account (bookmarks, favorites, history).
And now here I am picking up the little pieces of my soul and editing this review of an addon that I had already installed, now the account is a ghost of it's former self, this review the only thing that's left that confirms it's former existence.
The addon stills works though.
TL DR: Windows 10 ded, reset, wipes every program that has ever existed on my pc despite promising not to, and assasinates my firefox account in the process.Developer response

I almost fell from my damn chair reading this. You are a damn legend
As for the issue. If you are getting "Ad blocker detected", that is because you have/had adblocker and they flagged your browser. Try disabling your adblocker, clearing cache, reopen your browser and then it should work. If it doesn't I am afraid they won't let you open youtube no matter what, and then my extension won't work, so you might need to change your browser. Maybe try testing on a different browser to see if it works without an issue.
Also, I am aware that few ads are not skipped and the next update should fix that issue. If it doesn't then I will search for a different solution.
Thank you so much for this. It really made my day - Rated 4 out of 5by Thomas, a year agoThe ads come through sometimes but reloading the page works fine then. Ublock isn't working rn and I will continue using this addon. Hope it will block the ad banners too in the near future!

posted a year agoBanners won't be blocked as that might raise suspicious from YouTube and I want this to be as quiet as possible.
Thank you for your review. New update will probably fix your issues regarding ads going through sometimes. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15987285, a year ago
