posted 6 months agoThanks for the review. While it's certainly possible BetterTTV could increase CPU utilization on a browser tab from emotes rendering in chat, in our experience the increase is nominal for most streams. If you're still having this issue, I'd recommend reaching out to our team so we can help find the actual cause.- Rated 4 out of 5by ISHTIAK, 6 months ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Kwuasimoto, 6 months agoAfter upgrading my browser, and extensions to the latest versions I am experiencing the following issues:
1. When my twitch.tv tab is left open for a while, memory leaks, and or locked processes are causing all clickable actions to freeze and only refreshing the tab fixes the issue. This does not happen when I have BTTV disabled.
2. Emotes worked for about a week, refreshing does not fix them. Disabled 7TV to see if there was a conflict but that was not the case. My emotes no longer work with 7TV or BTTV. Which does push me towards this being a browser issue, but we have to keep in mind browser updates are optimized across millions of websites, they do not update things willy nilly. Even if its not a problem related to your app, allocating some man power to double check will not hurt.
*Performance tests on your app should be ran after every minor and major browser update.
3. This has been tested on both Chrome and Firefox. This for me, spells that its highly unlikely a browser issue.
* Update (12:22pm EST)
I completely wiped chrome (resetting all application cache etc), and its working on chrome now for about 5 mins. Will provide another update after about an hour if the actions freeze again.Developer response
posted 6 months agoThanks for the review. This issue was reported recently on our GitHub Issues and the conclusion the reporter came to was that this behavior happens even without BetterTTV installed. If you're still having trouble, I'd recommend reaching out to our team so we can provide you with instructions on how to obtain performance stats that might allow us to better understand the root cause for your device. - Rated 4 out of 5by Kougeru, 7 months ago

posted 7 months agoThanks for the review, but it sounds like this could be related to a Firefox issue rather than BetterTTV specifically. We'd recommend upgrading to Firefox 124.0.3 or higher, and seeing if the issue persists. - Rated 5 out of 5by Starbuck, 7 months ago

posted 7 months agoThanks for the review, but it sounds like having too many extensions installed was affecting the performance of YouTube, rather than BetterTTV specifically. BetterTTV only affects the chat frame on YouTube, not the video player nor its full screen behavior. - Rated 5 out of 5by Blue-Sauce, 8 months ago
