- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18632871, a month agoThis does not work. It used to work fine. It no longer works, it blocks nothing. Kind of useless.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13302641, a month agoA strange bug: after one day of working, YT suddenly recognizes it as an unwanted adblocker and disables playback, you have to remove cookies both from google.* and youtube.com. Also, the Block video option from the 3-dot menu seems to not hide a video.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Nezumi, a month agoLike I said - I am changing it back to 5 stars because it is working again. And it is AMAZING add-on, essential for me. Shields me from stuff I do not want to see ever again. Thank you!

Problem fixed. Thank you. - Rated 5 out of 5by narmlj, a month ago8 months ago, the add-on stopped working, then the authors worked tirelessly to fix it. It seems that youtube/google/alphabet just can't stand the idea of people having control over the endless disgusting slop oozing out of their website, because an update to youtube has broken this add-on once again.
I see some people saying that only the context menu has broken, but for my part, the entire add-on no longer functions at all. Oddly, the mobile version appears to still be working...
At this point, I wouldn't blame the contributors for giving up on this sisiphean chore. I certainly hope not! I want to stress how good this add-on is, WHEN it's working, in that youtube is so much more tolerable when you aren't being bombarded with gross-out bait videos, propaganda, or 'exclamation and arrow' spam. Sometimes you don't hate a channel, but get nothing but recommendations for that person... and you just want to filter your search results temporarily.
This tool is amazingly versatile, and I think indispensable in taming our increasingly corporatized internet. - Rated 2 out of 5by Amethyst, a month agoThis used to be an essential add-on, but starting several months ago context menu blocking broke for comments. And now context menu blocking is fully broken for videos and channels too. I can still block the channels by manually adding them by name or ID (which is a pain to find/extract), but this is an unacceptably slow process. I really hope the dev finds the time to fix it.

- Rated 3 out of 5by MikeHungerford, 2 months agoWorked great for a long time, then YouTube changed something and it doesn't work at all. Hopefully the author will fix it soon.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18554424, 2 months agoUsed it for a long time but since october 1. it does absolutely nothing anymore. it just stopped working.
- Rated 1 out of 5by fuck you, 2 months agowas working and then it started just not. didnt update anything, nothing changed, it just stopped working. thanks for nothing.
- Rated 5 out of 5by MOZuser, 2 months agoThis add-on is the best thing since sliced bread. You heard me right!
BUT, Youtube temporarily broke it around Oct 1, 2024 by changing an API to further their war against ad blockers.
Seriously, the ONLY reason this add-on is not more popular is people don't know about it. I have almost complete control of what YT decides to throw in my face - wonderful!
It makes YT usable again.
Many heartfelt thanks to the author! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18620508, 2 months agoedit: the bug affecting context menu blocking mentioned below was fixed (v. 0.4.4.).
if you experience youtube disabling playback due to blocktube: make sure to uncheck the "Disable YouTube's audio loudness normalization" setting in blocktube.
-----------------------------
the addon works great until youtube makes changes and breaks its functionality.
currently (v. 0.4.3.) the option to click the three dots beside a video and choose to block a video or channel is broken.
manually typing the video/channel id into the blocking filters still works.
the content that was blocked earlier by video/channel title, and video/channel id is staying blocked and the blocking of shorts also still works.
advanced blocking still works.
the addon needs an update to fix current bugs. - Rated 1 out of 5by Valmont, 2 months agoDid work nicely but right now on this October the first 2024 it doesn't work anymore.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12985410, 2 months agoIt's been half-broken in firefox and derivative browsers (such as waterfox) for about 1/3rd of a year and the author clearly doesn't care. As of today it's now *completely* broken in firefox/etc. Avoid this abandonware and switch to the objectively better YouTube Content Blocker by Joseph Crowell.
- Rated 4 out of 5by ジョンスミス, 2 months agoFirst of all, I really thanks to Author.
But this add-on,some time doesn't work.
I tried to find reason...
I suspect “Interfering with another add-on?”
and check all add-on, but I couldn't find why.
If it worked perfectly, All people wold Release from shameless ad movie and unpleasant face of youtuber,
make us heart be in paradise.
