Burner Emails: Easy, Fast, Disposable Emails by burnermail.io

by Firefox user 16767661, 4 years agoI tried 2 or 3 times to get it to work. It generates "burner" emails, but the emails don't make their way to me, at least in these 2-3 tries. Then, when I was going to try again to see if I could get it to work, it said I had exceeded the number of free burner emails and I would have to upgrade to Premium! Pay money for something that has yet to work? Really?

- Rated 1 out of 5by mxracer6y, 7 months agoThis service is now defunct. Don't purchase the service as it no longer works. emails no longer are forwarded and haven't been for at least 2 years now. They're happy to take your $$ and run though.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14410932, a year agoNo longer works. Last updated in 2020. Doesn't forward emails. Emails to support aren't returned. Do not pay for premium.
- Rated 3 out of 5by christoff, a year agoWas working fine for a while then suddenly burner addresses no longer forwarded emails. I am a premium user. Seems to be a consensus that the project has been abandoned as there has been no response from their support regarding the issue. If you want to use the free version to send one off emails etc as burners then it probably should work but don't pay for the premium.

- Rated 4 out of 5by dious, 3 years agoVery useful website. The plugin is good but is missing lot of functionalities like create custom burner and e-mail waiting in your custom mail boxes.
- Rated 3 out of 5by sjk969, 3 years agoDoes not work with Hotmail/Outlook
It used to work fine, forwarding email to Hotmail. But then I realized I stopped receiving email. It turned out that email sent to Burner Mail and relayed to Hotmail never was received. No, it wasn't even in the Junk Mail folder. When I changed the "send to" email to something other than Hotmail, it worked fine. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16933888, 3 years agoVery easy to start using. Does exactly what I need it to do as a free user. Emails are not timed use like other services and you can tie it to your main email inbox with no hidden restrictions.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16380455, 3 years agoBurner Mail gives me complete control of, well, practically ALL of my emails. I can easily disable, rein-able, delete or add new burner emails with 1-click. I highly recommend this!
- Rated 1 out of 5by sgdl-pers, 3 years agoI liked this addon, it was useful for quick emails I never thought about. It actually replaced sharklasers.com for one-time addresses. I mention SL becuase I just found this addon makes the website unusable, whether by design or a code fault sharklasers.com is unusable with this addon enabled. That SL does the same thing as this addon but free guides me toward this being malice but I've no proof. You decide.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16981758, 3 years agoThis is a very confusing app to use. I installed the Burner Mail addon for Firefox. I attempted to log in to my Burnermail account, but the addon returns, “Something went wrong when trying to connect to Burner Mail. Please try again later.” However, it works fine if I use the same credentials to log in to the burnermail.io website.
I created a burner e-mail, and when sending an e-mail to it from an e-mail account that is not related to it or linked to my burnermail account, the e-mails are rejected with the message “Message rejected due to: SPF fail - not authorized.” It provides a URL for more information, but when clicking on that link, my browser returns “Unable to connect - Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at www.openspf.net.”
I just bought the three-year service; I’m glad they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee; this is way too much effort for nothing to work. - Rated 3 out of 5by eamreyes, 3 years agoMy initial review include Bug #1, but that was cause by PEBKAC. Adjusted star rating to medium and will evaluate for realsy.
Whine #1
The website and plugin default to "Sign Up" and "Sign Up" looks a lot like "Sign In" state of the login pages. My initial failures could be attributed to this UI behavior. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15414620, 3 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by geoffphuket, 3 years agoI'd give this 10 stars, if it were possible! It uses generated addresses for sending, with replies going to the registered, login email address. ALL FOR FREE! Those that can't get it to work, don't know what they're doing! There are no limits to the number of addresses being generated (I delete and generate new after using) and I'm only using the basic free version. Used it for more than 12 months, now. :-)

- Rated 5 out of 5by Dan, 4 years agoThis is a no brainer. I have the premium plan and it gives you the opportunity to write a description(or create your own custom email w/ premium).
