Ironically web extensions are more secure, better for the user -- yet here we are, more news of Spyware add-ons finally getting blacklisted after hundreds of thousands of downloads.
The damage was already done. Since we have to do our own vetting process, we need the tools. We have a source viewer. Now we need a diff viewer to checks updates and an add-on firewall to manage the connections. - Rated 5 out of 5by grahamperrin, 6 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14030533, 6 years agoThis is exactly what I needed! I wanted to copy an extension and modify it for my own use but I could not figure it out. Now I can read the code myself and pull out exactly what I need.

What I would like instead is a "view source" item in the right-click menu, and no icon. (I have too many icons already!)
Does the job though!Developer response

That is already possible - right-click on the CRX button and choose "Hide this button".
If you regret your action and want to show it again, go to about:addons, Extensions, and click on Preferences of the extension. Then tick the checkbox with the label "Show a page action button in the location bar of extension installation pages.". - Rated 5 out of 5by Marek, 6 years ago
