- Rated 4 out of 5by pasta, 5 years agoIt does the job well about 98% of the time. The few times it has issues are with websites that already have built-in "dark modes," but you can easily have the add-on remember not to enable on those sites by clicking its button in the toolbar. It does affect load times of websites, but not by a very significant margin. Sometimes UI elements on certain websites become obscured but can be easily fixed by turning off the add-on for that website.
Overall, the add-on does exactly what it needs to do, with near perfect execution. It's an essential add-on for me now along with uBlock Origin. - Rated 5 out of 5by LazHaz, 5 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Armando, 5 years agoThis extension slow down your browser/crash. In pages who is already "dark mode" it will break the page making is frustrating. Isnt intuitive IMO. But the last straw was the addon changed my dark toolbar to grayish and white (when addon is disabled) and didnt saved my previous toolbar (I clicked to check what the function did). Oh well, to much hassle for now. I can see it having potential to be a great extension but for now I wouldnt recommend it.
Edit: 1 month later after disabling it I still have issues. I wish I never had this installed. I would understand something Ive downloaded outside the official addon page screw with my browser. But for an "official" and recommended extension I cant stay quiet and do nothing. - Rated 5 out of 5by rikyevo, 5 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Marcos, 5 years agoThe best dark theme I've tried so far. It keeps the pages elements. No problems loading pages so far (errors or slow navigation).

- Rated 1 out of 5by Ashish, 5 years agoThis extension will slow your browser down like hell...! At one point I almost switched to chrome thinking it was firefox that was the problem. Firefox would take nearly 10 minutes to start after a few days of installation of this extension. And even after the browser has started it would take decades to load the site. And suddenly every thing started working smoothly as soon as I uninstalled this piece of crap. A piece of garbage is what it is..! This should be removed from the add-on store all together if not improved.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13605384, 5 years agoAn absolute must have. This extension does an incredible job of automatically converting the entire internet to dark mode, greatly reducing eye strain. Its styling rules are almost perfect, in most cases better than the websites' own custom-built dark themes. The keyboard shortcuts work well to quickly toggle Dark Reader for the occasional site that it doesn't play nicely with.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Mountain Man, 5 years agoLooks great, but it causes frequent slowdown and hesitation on web pages. I know this extension is the problem because when I disable it, the issues go away. I prefer the "Dark Background and Light Text" extension.
