Double-click Image Downloader by Marnes

by Bull, 7 years agoI'm very excited for the progression of this add-on. I used Image Picker, pre-version 57, exclusively for the ability to shift+click an image to auto save to a relatively organized and dedicated folder. This addon is on a path to be the perfect replacement for me. I hope that choosing and saving a specific save folder rather than using the browser's default download location gets implemented as the subfolder system rolls out. I would also like to see support for saving Instagram photos.
Either way--great addon, works very well and my browsing experience feels more back to normal now.

posted 7 years agoDownloading to a folder outside the browser's default download dir is not possible (even if I wanted to, it cannot be done) and an anti-feature anyway for technical reasons (hence why they made it impossible).
Sorry about the subfolder and rename feature being broken at the moment, but that's due to firefox's incomplete API. It works in chrome.
If I remember correctly, nstagram is one of a few hosts that have a very strange internal layout on their webpages that makes it impossible or very difficult for an addon to download their images. Twitter and a few others are also guilty of it. I can give them another close look to see if I can fix it but there are no promises.
