- Rated 3 out of 5by Nerv, 13 days agotho a very handy Extention but I encountered a problem with the DuckDuckGoogle extension recently where it prevented DuckDuckGo from displaying any search results in Firefox. After disabling the extension, DuckDuckGo worked normally again. It seems that the extension is interfering with DuckDuckGo’s search functionality. It would be great if this could be fixed so that users can switch seamlessly between DuckDuckGo and Google without any issues.

posted 13 days agoHi Nerv, this will be a copy/paste response, but I wouldn't write it any other way:
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have decided to discontinue this add-on as it requires much more maintenance than it saves my time and all it's current users.
I've written down the "why" on the product page if you're interested.
I want to thank you for installing it and hope you can make do without it as I unfortunately also have to.
If it's any consolidation, because of your (and '4thy's) review I was able to quickly react and disable all the code in a new patch. You have helped remove a lot of (potential) frustration for over 1400 DuckDuckGo users, and I'm grateful for that.
Kind regards,
Jeroen - Rated 4 out of 5by 4thy, 13 days agoExcellent and simple!
Unfortunately it seems to break my searches sometimes when using DuckDuckGo (no results at all)
Still, thank you for your work!Developer response

Additionally, the button now has a new location so it can be used from any of DuckDuckGo's search pages. I hope you like it! Developer response

- Rated 4 out of 5by Vitaly Zdanevich, 9 months agoNo github link?
Please make link always visible (always on screen).Developer response
posted 6 months agoHi Zdanevich,
Thanks for the feedback.
Regarding the GitHub link: it is coming.
For now you can simply right-click the install button and save the .XPI file which is actually a ZIP-file. Unzip it, and you have the source! (Manually unpacking the .XPI file is actually "safer" when you want to review plugins source code as a link to source code on another website does not guarantee that that code will be in the plugin you are installing.)
Regarding the "Always visible": The button has a new location and is now visible from any search page. Hope you like it! - Rated 1 out of 5by Albin, a year agoThen what is the point of using a privacy focused search engine?

posted a year agoThat’s also a great solution. But I’m not sure if the add-on deserves 1 star for that.- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13835412, 2 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by mrbruno, 2 years agoI'd like the link to open in the same tab or at least be able to choose in the options.
Can you put the link in the images tab, too? - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15191636, 2 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by kmacdough, 4 years agoSimple & just works 99.9% of the time. As others mentioned, "+" doesn't work as Google treats it like a space. A keyboard shortcut would also be nice.
That said, not seeing a Github or similar leaves me with some discomfort for security reasons (hence 4 stars). I also imagine I could throw together some PRs for my above complaints. - Rated 4 out of 5by Simeon, 4 years agoVery useful, thank you. However, I've noticed that it seems to remove some special characters from the query. "C++ docs" turns into "C docs".

I will take a look into this somewhere in the near future, thanks for bringing this to my attention :] - Rated 5 out of 5by Seraphis, 4 years agoDoes exactly what it says. Would be nice if we could specify a country-specific version of google though.
