posted 4 years agoPlease, make sure you are logged in to your Duolingo account before trying to put your username in Duolingo Boost popup. The extension doesn't ask for your credentials, it just uses your existing Duolingo session. When you are not logged in, Duolingo Boost is not able to fetch your account data.

- Rated 4 out of 5by JoesDadU, 3 years agoMany features similar to DuoStrength add-on in Firefox. In general, I like DuoStrength better, with 2 exceptions. (1) DuoLingo Boost does have night mode (Duolingo still refuses to let their website be controlled by our standard non-add-on browser preferences), so that's cool. (2) DuoLingo boost doesn't slow down your initial duolingo.com lessons page load by 3 seconds, like DuoStrength does. (Not a biggie, but I'm shooting for a balanced comparison, here.)

It should request data within the same container as the login session but it asks in a default container instead. It works if you isolate the session in a separate Firefox profile instead - downloads data, shows streak, etc., but without night mode it's pretty much useless.

I created a bug report to the Dev about a week almost two ago and I have yet to hear or see any actions taken to remedy. 10/10 Don't recommend.

I didn't have issues logging in other times I've changed usernames so I'm not sure what the problem is.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 15213361, 5 years agoI cannot use this addon. It doesn't accept my username. Looks pretty interesting though.

- Rated 4 out of 5by PERCE-NEIGE, 6 years agoThis extension is very interesting, but it doesnt take into account the language course I practicing, I don't know how to switch the courses from the extension, as it doesn't switch automatically to the current one.
It would be interesting to have other functionalities too, the one that have been removed by Duolingo (for instance, vocabulary). I'd like a vocabulary and expression saver (personal dictionary of expression), or something like Readlang, integrated with Duolingo, or something like the immersion feature.Developer response
posted 6 years agoThank you for your feedback! As for switching the current course, Duolingo Boost does it "automatically", however data are refreshed only once in 5 minutes, therefore it may take a while before you see the actual data like your current course. I know this it not an optimal solution and I'm thinking about how to make it more responsive without making too many requests to Duolingo servers.
Personal dictionary seems like an interesting feature, I'll look into it. Meanwhile, there already is a feature called "custom lesson notes" which allows you to write your custom notes in every "tips" section (in the sidebar). - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13820698, 7 years ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by GVP, 7 years agoI had installed this add-on with high hopes, but they were not all fulfilled.
It is nice to be able to see my progress in the various courses, and to know instantly whether I have kept up with my daily streak.
However, in Fx 54 in Ubuntu there is a problem with a portion of a box appearing with the word "here", on the Lessons page.
Once you fix this, if you could also add SeaMonkey and Pale Moon support, I could be most grateful.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHello,
thank you for your feedback. I'll look at the problem you appear to have with the Linux version of the addon. You can always report any bugs using an issue tracker (https://bitbucket.org/Richdark/duolingo-boost/issues?status=new&status=open).
