Reviews for Firefox Color
Firefox Color by Firefox

by Fatyanoor Ashfa, 4 years agoIt is very easy to use for making themes. It has a color palette which lets you use colors that are already used, and there is an advanced mode to color specific parts of the browser, complete with a manual explaining where each color goes.
However, it has issues:
1. As of the latest Firefox update, there are some advanced colors that don't work anymore, such as the tab background separator, pop up highlight and the new tab text.
2. There are also new attributes in the new Firefox version that can't be edited yet, like the border around the text in the ≡ menu which appears when using up/down arrows.
3. There is currently no way to navigate to saved ♡ themes.
There is also room for improvement:
1. An option to upload a theme file (.xpi) to edit
2. An option to edit the Firefox default themes
All in all, good app.
Hopefully the developers update it soon.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Yves Signer, 10 hours agoWould love to use it more but why there is a ridiculous 5MB limit on locally saved themes. Is this a bug? limit on saved themes on local storage? Makes no sense..... deleting themes to free up space doesn't free up space. Themes disappear spontaneously. Export and no import of themes. Installing imported themes not possible - Firefox reports file as being corrupt. Still a much needed simple extension all things considered, please fix it.

- Rated 4 out of 5by quicksite, 2 months agoIt's a pretty darn good tool for people like me who don't know how to create/edit style sheets. The big problem is something I have seen in past on other style tools on other platforms. It would be so much more helpful if you provided a simple numbered MARKUP diagram that shows exactly where within the browser tabs and toolbars each of the adjustable color elements exist. Only about 5 or 6 adjustment tools are super-obvious about where this color will get applied, such as "Active Tab" background color, or color of Icons. But far too many of the elements are very non-obvious to end users who didn't write the Firefox Color tool. YES it's great that some (but only very few) UI elements actually "light up" in the simplified preview element as you make a change. Either do it for all the elements or its huge disservice. ... I should really subtract a 2nd star for the non-obvious way to RE-APPLY your theme when buggy things happen that suddenly strip out the entire theme reverting to default. You show how to SAVE, how to favorite, how to share, but missing a simple actuator to "Re-apply theme".
- Rated 5 out of 5by dVerp, 2 months agoProvides almost every basic theme-color setting needed.
The one standout thing missing is a setting for "ntp_card_background" - the New Tab (StartPage) card/button background color. Add that and its practically complete. - Rated 5 out of 5by JZVS, 2 months ago
