- Rated 5 out of 5by BrunoMag, 5 years agoI love this extension, there was a problem in the import function and the author solved the problem in less than 24 hours.
- Rated 4 out of 5by pointtonull, 5 years agoThis is probably the best highlighting tool available for Firefox at the moment.
But the blacklist feature ("Never highlight on these sites") is not working. When I add any site to the list it stops the add-on of working on any site and blocks the access to the configuration. To fix it you have to purge the configuration (reinstalling).
Firefox 69.0.3 (64-bit) on Linux
I could not find the repo to try and create a PR.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Tutenstein, 5 years agoThis is an amazing addon for Firefox. The only thing missing is that it doesn't work with Firefox Android. Anyway to make this work?
- Rated 4 out of 5by mike, 5 years agoThis is probably the best highlighting tool available for Firefox at the moment. However, I can't seem to get the import/export functionality to work correctly.
When I hit export, I get a file with no file type associated with it, and importing that file does nothing. Tested with clean installs of the extension in Firefox.
Currently running:
Windows 10 (1903)
Firefox 68.0.2

posted 5 years agoHi, the restore of backup should work now. There was an issue with how Firefox handles popups - Rated 2 out of 5by Eastpak1984, 5 years agoWorked great until Firefox 68.0.2 - now it does nothing :-(
update: i've minimized the Problem - its the URL. If i use it on any website, it works. If i add a filter to use it for only one website, it doesnt work.
(Doesnt work any more, because some days ago it worked great)Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi Eastpak1984, do you have the latest version (4.7) of Highlight this?
Is it not working on a specific website? if so, can you share a link?
Do you have multiple wordlists? if so, can you try disable one by one? or can you create 1 list of words with 1 word and check if that works?
thanks,
Wim - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15232769, 5 years agoWorking great on PC, does not seem to be working on Android. The add-on does not save settings and thus I am unable to create and save the word list to higlight text.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14380122, 5 years agoI loved this on Chrome but I don't like Chrome. I just found out it was on Firefox and installed it but it doesn't work. I have the same settings that I had on Chrome. Is there a fix on the way or am I missing something?
Update:
I found out the problem. I used punctuation(grammar) symbols in my list and it caused disfunction in the add-on.
Apparently you can't use any symbols on Firefox but you can use some but not all symbols on Chrome.
Update: Wim Deboel fixed the symbols problem and I donated $8.00 because this is the best Highlighter Addon. I should have updated back on August 25 when I donated.Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi, it works for me but can you share some more information? What version of Firefox are you using? are you on windows or mac? Could you give me an example page and word you try to highlight?
Thanks for the feedback,
Wim - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12620236, 5 years agoFirefox 68. Don't work and hang browser tab. Used two multiple words list(more that 50 lines, japanese/korean symbols, etc). Trying with disabled other extensions, change "Highlight This" configs, still freezes tab. Nothing work, same with performance slider. This is perfect highlighter i seeks for ages, but it not work for me. Sorry, can't provide more info, BUT this extension works in chromium.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 15081635, 5 years agoGood: ***
- It allows words to be grouped together and share the same highlight colour.
- When it comes to highlighting page, it is fast and not as buggy as some I have tried before.
Bad: ***
- Export function does not (never is more accurate) work (FF6x-FF71 or later, Kubuntu 18.10-19.04). Import probably broken too but it cannot be tested.
- Configurations (settings and keywords) are all gone if Firefox doesn't exit properly. Sometimes it's gone even when FF closes properly. You cannot do anything about it because the backup functions does not work. It happens ever
- Options drop-down from toolbar button have both H and V Scrollbars in lower res screen (e.g. 1366x768)
- No bug report available. Existing site acknowledge only chrome extension.Developer response
