Look up dictionary by using Right Click by Harpseal

by jsmithson, 6 years agoUnfortunately, "Look up dictionary by using Right Click" is not very useful on my Mac. The first word I select for lookup works fine. However, after that, the contextual menu item disappears, and the only way to look up another word is to reload the page, at which point the contextual menu item reappears for one more lookup.
BTW, I tried the "dict://test" suggestion of another reviewer (which I was not familiar with), and that test works fine on my Mac. I have no idea why this extension only works for a single lookup, but that makes it non-useful in my opinion.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14314266, 5 years agoit was simple useful plugin, but it does not work anymore (FF 68). The contextual menu disappears after first usage. Something has been broken and is awaiting fix.

- Rated 5 out of 5by cam8001, 7 years agoWorks well in Firefox Quantum on macOS High Sierra. To ensure the dictionary was set up correctly, I entered "dict://test" into the location bar and associated the native macOS dictionary with "dict//" links. After that, all good.
Thanks for the great extension! - Rated 5 out of 5by Nathan, 7 years agoWorks as advertised! It is now possible to lookup words in the macOS dictionary app. I'll second the surprise that this extension is necessary. In Safari and Chrome it is a native feature.
