- Rated 1 out of 5by jr, 2 years agodo not update. older versions retain access to now paywalled (server-side?) features.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17638932, 2 years agoWhen I installed this add-on first about a month ago I could put custom icons via URL link for every visual bookmark. Then a couple of days ago this changed to be a PRO function requiring payment. How so?
I'd pay, but my card is not working for that since I'm a Russian citizen. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16349959, 2 years agoChanging to a subscription based model after offering one-time payment. Making changes that literally no one has asked for. Last update was a massive downgrade.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Tag, 2 years agoI've been paid subscriber for this add-on for years. I'm pretty sure it's the ONLY add-on I've ever paid for. The developer decided that they regret offering a lifetime subscription, and just ruined the add-on to try and get me to start a new yearly subscription. $#%& you.
One of the features of the new yearly 'pro' subscription is the ability to change the font - and the latest update changed the default font to some abhorrent almost unreadable font so you can't change it to something better without paying for the new pro subscription. For 5+ years I have used this with a perfectly readable font and now it's changed and I can't change it without paying. Again, %$&# you. This kind of %#$# is why people are so reluctant to pay for software in the first place.Developer response
posted 2 years agoHello there,
I'm sorry to hear about the issues with the font - we did not change the font to be deliberately "unreadable", but since the major upgrade of the extension across all three browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge), we are by default using the system font of your machine. Typically, that would be the very same font that is being used in your operating system and the UI of your browser. This change was introduced so that Speed Dial 2 is consistent with the browser / OS typography.
Could you please reach out to our customer support with a screenshot of the unreadable font?

- Rated 1 out of 5by thraxbert, 2 years agoSpeed Dial 2 is quite literally the only addon I've ever paid for, and will ever pay for. The syncing was worth it, and the user interface was highly customizable. I've had it as my homepage for what feels like a decade or more... But not anymore.
After their October 24 update: they say I'm on a "legacy" plan that they're taking away. So I paid money for features and the promise of lifetime support... JK SORRY, NOT ANYMORE. Now they want more of my money. And while they're busy cheating on their promise, they took away features that I found helpful and important.
I will find a new speed dial addon, and I'm never coming back. I now regret ever giving this developer a penny of my money, because they broke their promise. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17626478, 2 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by st-technick, 2 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Hanlon, 2 years agoPro/Legacy user, was the best new tab extension until they broke the interface and started pushing a subscription fee. Sorry, that dog won't hunt.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Seedbeat, 2 years agoLast update broke some features that I'm using. My tabs UI looks ugly now. Custom CSS options removed. This plugin was great for many years, but now this is not usable for me...
- Rated 1 out of 5by kanuay, 2 years agoIt used to be okay for many years, with a few bug like - the settings are always gone.
With this update, the UI is more beautiful, but things are worse. I can't even adjust each icon's frames to be square anymore!
Thanks to developer for all versions in the past. - Rated 1 out of 5by Austin, 2 years agoThis has been a great app for many years until recently where they took away features and are asking for a subscription. Come on, who do you think you are? Netflix? A subscription for a glorified bookmark manager? Weird flex, but no. Additionally, the features that are there don't even work. I used to be able to open pages into a new tab. Not working anymore! What a joke.

posted 2 years agoHi Austin, subscription plans were introduced to Speed Dial 2 almost three years ago. You can learn more about the recent changes in this article: https://medium.com/@speeddial2/recent-changes-to-speed-dial-2-a9e33a84b62c
We just released a fix for bookmarks preventing to open in the new tab. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17625001, 2 years agoDON'T DO IT - Unless you are prepared to pay a subscription price. I've had Speed Dial 2 for years, and it's the first Extension I add when I get a new install of Firefox, Chrome, or Edge (depending on home, work, or work), but no longer. I've paid for it when I didn't have to in order to have premium, but I refuse to pay for it month after month, or even year after year. To make matters worse, now - I am assuming to encourage users to pay the subscription cost - my UI is jacked up, as well as sync. When I try to check my account, I get a popup stating my version is no longer supported and I need to "upgrade" to the subscription service. NO! Just stop breaking what is working fine. Leave my version alone - I'll use it and never want an upgrade again! IT'S. WORKING. FINE!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14021851, 2 years agoSince last update, I can't change the size of thumbnails. Many pictures on my computer are too small and doesn't cover the thumbnail.
Can you add an option for it, as for the background ? - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17624999, 2 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by AC⚡️DC, 2 years agoI'm using the legacy edition and I have had it for a long time. I even paid for it if I remember right. So now I'm supposed to upgrade and pay $4, but only if I hurry, otherwise $6. Are you kidding? I won't pay and will switch to another product if I have to. That's what I did with Google Apps Legacy Edition, and many others did too. Google then apologised and reversed it. It made no difference to me, the trust was gone, and so was I.
