- Rated 5 out of 5by Swagonair, a year agofinally an extension that actually does what its supposed too, I have been searching for HOURS for a decent reader 10/10, I just wish the voices were better - but other than that, exactly what i wanted
- Rated 1 out of 5by Israel Roldan, 2 years agoBasically, it does nothing. I think that it didn't install the voices because I don't listen to any voices. I am on Firefox – Arch Linux – Kernel 6.1.12 – x86_64.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Razoner, 2 years agoI can hear it make sound, and it sounds somewhat robotic, but it's not terrible. It was slow to translate the text on the screen, and it ultimately crashed my computer, so I'm uninstalling it. A language translator with built-in text-to-speech abilities will probably suit me better.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Christina, 2 years agoWhen this screen reader works, it's incredible. I like being able to customize the speech function and clicking where I want the reader to begin. It's intuitive and not riddled with features that convolute the product.
Unfortunately, I run into a lot of times where the addon doesn't begin reading, and will just load and load in a continuous loop of "Loading Audio". This isn't on any particular instance, seems random on random websites. Sometimes it works, and other times it does not. I have also had instances of stopping reading and then resuming a few minutes later - and having the addon resort to non functioning again.
I often have to supplement with a bulky software program that allows similar functions, but is much more difficult to use. - Rated 5 out of 5by colorCD, 2 years agoWorks great! I have ADHD, so reading through websites is often difficult for me. Having text read out loud to me so that I can read along (or hell, listen to it in the background) is very handy.
I think it would be great if more "reading" websites had native TTS, but that's not a reality yet, so Pericles is a great replacement :-)
(Also, for all your reading-along needs, Pericles lets you change the speed of the narrator, which is awesome.) - Rated 2 out of 5by jrreda, 2 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Byron, 2 years agoWorks as expected. Clear voice, good pace, good inflection, even tries to read misspelled words the way they are spelled. Kind of funny once you realize what just happened. :-)

- Rated 3 out of 5by Sascha, 3 years agoCan be a good help to have a web page read to you, but still limited and with many bugs. Most annoyingly, it seems to treat soft hyphens as word delimiters and split words in the middle if it encounters one. Also falls back to English if it encounters an unknown word, which means my (rather technical) German page is littered with English pronounciations even though these words also exist in German. Still: three stars for being a mostly useful, free accessibility tool - with potential for further improvements :-)

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13506381, 3 years agoOption screen turns out to be black when I click on addon shortcut from toolbar. Addon freezes up as well.
The quality of the corresponding Chrome extension feels much better. Would love to see that stability here as well. - Rated 4 out of 5by Necroheadbanger, 3 years ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14629546, 3 years agoI really like the user interface and how a reader can easily select a sentence. There are options for changing the speed, too. I don't like that I can only use system voices (which on my device are terrible). Additionally, it sometimes skips around on the page, but refreshing helps that.
