- Rated 3 out of 5by Brother Charles, 7 months agoThank you, ACK-J - this little extension works well. However, I've only rated it 3 stars because sometimes it proves to be a somewhat counter-productive annoyance. This plugin really, really needs a "whitelisting" option. For example, I can't log in and use box(dot)com and a couple of other sites/services that I use to backup my files online, unless I remember to temporarily disable 'Port Authority'. Please add a whitelisting option - that will make it a fully 5 star extension.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Kbabknight, 9 months agoI'm happy with this extension! However, the extension doesn't remember my choice to turn off notifications, so whenever I restart my browser it turns on again by default. Once this gets fixed, I'll give it 5 stars :)
- Rated 4 out of 5by aniline, a year agoNotifications can't be disabled either globally or for individual sites. They re-enable themselves after the browser is restarted.

posted a year agoHey this is an issue I'm aware of and know the solution to. I will add this feature later today :)
You can track the issue here https://github.com/ACK-J/Port_Authority/issues/26 - Rated 5 out of 5by geeknik, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Zapfenzieher, a year agoWorks brilliantly! (Almost too well, sometimes; I want to allow my bank to port-scan me and I see from the code that I should be able to whitelist a domain but I don't see how. Better all than none, though.)
[edited to add: just saw the release notes for v1.1.4 regarding temporary reversion. Got it.]Developer response
posted a year agoThe new version 1.1.5 will be out soon. Right now I am having some users Beta test it to make sure there aren't any issues before it is pushed out. If you'd be kind enough to beta test it for me the instructions are here https://github.com/ACK-J/Port_Authority/issues/32#issuecomment-1720072034 - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17530236, a year ago

posted 2 years agoHey, I just pushed an update that fixes this issue. Hope this helps! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15028866, 2 years agoI like this extension for browsing the web, but when I launch jupyter notebooks from the terminal, I have to disable this addon so it will redirect to the localhost port properly. It would be nice to have a way to add per-site exceptions, or an exception for localhost in general.
