by Bananenbiz, 2 years agoThey just released a new version, they took the extension off Mozilla Addons while it remained on Chrome. I guess they had to improve some things that required the extension to be temporarily disabled. I like this idea a lot: it's like Ghostery, but Qwant will not collect and sell your data to just anyone like Ghostery does.
Qwant will only place contextual ads under your search term (if your search term is for example "Tickets Disneyland Paris," they will put an ad above the results to earn a little money. They will do the same thing to anyone who searches for "Tickets Disneyland Paris"). This will keep your searches private and disconnected from one another, making profiling a lot harder. You won't be bombarded with Disneyland Paris ads. Unless you allow the cookies from the Disneyland website of course... But at least no one else besides Disney will know that you are looking this up. Perfect.
