- Rated 5 out of 5by Ollie, 6 years agoThis is probably the most important extension I have installed - it returns a functional communal environment to youtube, which they seem intent on suppressing. Thanks so much for fixing the issues it had following site updates!
If I could suggest one additional feature, it would be to add a dropdown on the selected subreddit tab to show previous instances when the video was posted to that particular sub, perhaps with the date and upvote count in the dropdown.
Again, many thanks for writing and maintaining this extension Mustafa!Developer response

This feature is now in the latest version. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14493582, 6 years agoAs other users stated, not been updated for a long time and just causes extreme lag and high memory usage. Needs to be fixed/updated but unfortunately it seems the developer has abandoned it which is a shame - was a good addon when it worked.

posted 6 years agoThanks to Github user simpleauthority and some time off from work, this and all other currently reported issues are now fixed. Please let me know if there are any other problems. - Rated 5 out of 5by Psythik, 6 years agoEDIT: The extension works again! Thank you so much! Changing my review from one star to 5. Now all you have to do is add night mode support. :P
Original review below:
Hasn't worked in over a year, and still doesn't work. The only thing this extension does is disable comments completely on YouTube. It's a damn shame because I used to use it to not only improve the quality of comments on YT, but also discover new subreddits.
I don't understand why the developer can't get their act together and make this extension work again. They've had AMPLE amounts of time to fix it! I'd GLADLY pay money just to have a functional version!
Furthermore, I hate how the dev wants you to create a GitHub account just to submit a simple bug report. I'm not jumping through hoops for you, mkalash. Just fix your damn extension already!Developer response

Edit: Works great again!Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14186837, 6 years agoIt used to work alright, but not as fast as the chrome one. Now not only is it not working (hides Youtube comments without showing anything) but uses an inexplicable amount of cpu power and memory. I have now opened 2 Youtube tabs and 2 other tabs. Firefox is using all that is available of my cpu and 2.5-3 GB of RAM.

posted 6 years agoSorry for your frustration. I haven't received the latest YouTube update yet, so I was not aware of these issues until they were reported to Github. I will work to reproduce and fix these problems ASAP. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13411480, 6 years agoCurrently blows up memory usage by at least 1GB, sometimes blows up to 2GB. Other addons I use alongside are Facebook Container, HTTPS Everywhere, Momentum, Reddit Enhancement Suite, Tab Suspender, Tree Style Tab, uBlock Origin, uBO-Scope, uMatrix, and Wikiwand.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14029340, 7 years agoThanks for fixing the font. The only small issues I see now are:
1. The obsolete Alientube extension used to somehow determine which Reddit thread was "official". So, videos from the Red Letter Media Youtube channel would have the thread from the Red Letter Media subreddit as the default selection. That would be a nice addition.
2. Sometimes numbered lists seem to overlap with the downvote button (very minor)
Still the best recreational browser extension. Thanks a lot for maintaining it. - Rated 3 out of 5by AssassinWarrior, 7 years agowith the redesign (which can be seen when logged out) of reddit comes massive memory leaks as well as reddit comments not displaying. i tested with it both disabled and enabled first before confirming.

posted 7 years agoThe redesign shouldn't be affecting this plugin at all. The data comes from Reddit's API, but the design is independent and comes from the plugin's own templates. Having been using the redesign myself, I am not noticing any issues. Please post a detailed report here: https://github.com/mustafakalash/royt/issues/new - Rated 4 out of 5by David, 7 years agoThe latest update increase the font size, which looks nicer to me, although a point or two lower would be fine too. Perhaps an option to set font size would be best to suit all users?
Being able to see all different reddit pages on youtube videos is one of my absolute favorite extensions on a web browser, in order to get different discussions on said videos. On chrome, alientube was good until the dev stopped support; although it was picked up and reworked on github to work wonderfully again.
Switching to firefox, i couldn't get the new alientube to work right, but this extension has been a perfectly good substitute. For a short while i couldn't get it to consistently load on all videos, even when i knew there were reddit pages on a video, they just wouldn't show up. As of recently its been perfect though, and been exactly what i want.
I'm giving it 4 stars as its almost perfect but the occasional error when reddit posts don't show up was frustrating, and a way to change the font/ scale (although i like the bigger size as of today's update) - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13256157, 7 years agoSometimes when I open a video the extension doesn't load anything at all and I have to refresh the page for it to appear...
If these issues would get resolved this would be an A+ extension. - Rated 5 out of 5by ion201, 7 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13910582, 7 years agoWorks fine. The only issue is that the font is very small and not adjustable. Otherwise works well even with the new Youtube layout.
