posted 6 years agoHi, settings of ScrapBee needs storage keeping enabled, so please turn off "Clearing cookies and history on exit" in Firefox settings and see if this helps. - Rated 5 out of 5by kerenoc, 6 years agoGreat extension for users that had to use old versions of Firefox just to keep using Scrapbook. Thanks!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14749460, 6 years agoInitially it did not work as expected. Turned out I did not understand settings.
I opened an issue and the author answered to make this clear.
"text" is the name of the collection which will appear in the drop down box (which is empty otherwise) and path is the full name of a rdf file, existent or not, empty or not.
So giving the rdf of an old scrapbook (usually something like C:\Users\BUDDY\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\lrwtavtr.default\ScrapBook\scrapbook.rdf) plus a name will give you all old data back.
Absolutely great! - Rated 5 out of 5by leproxy, 6 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14784893, 6 years agoWindows Defender flags one of the files downloaded by this extension (required to complete installation and setup of this extension) as a Trojan. Completely unacceptable for a Mozilla-Firefox endorsed extension. I deleted the extension and the downloaded files at once. I urge everyone else to do the same or not add this extension in the first place.

posted 6 years agoThis is a fake alarm about upx(make executable smaller), I'll try to make some change to reduce misreport.
UPD: fixed, welcome to version 1.6.0 - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14064284, 6 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 11089990, 6 years agoJ'ai dit : "Ne fonctionne pas sur iMac 10.13.6 malgré de nombreuses tentatives."
Merci mille fois.
2020/04/03 - Firefox version 74.
It does not work anymore. The pane opens, displays "loading" and then nothing. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't change anything either.
WebScrapBook is an incomprehensible gas factory so I have nothing left for now.
Pity.Developer response
posted 6 years agoCan you describe details of the problem you met?
UPD: Sorry, I'm not sure if I do fully understand your words, but I'd like to provide some help if I could. So please email me with details (logs, screenshots and so on) if you need. - Rated 3 out of 5by tulip33, 6 years ago安装时win10的Windows defender提示木马病毒,scrapbee\scrapbee_backend.exe有Trojan:Win32/Occamy.C特洛伊木马,严重级别,怎么回事?
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14746586, 6 years agoGood, I can now read my old scrapbook directory.
But I confirm v1.5.1 doesn't capture new page, it blocked with "don't close the tab during capture" message or something like that.
The v1.4.1 works like a charm.
Update 12apr2019
@ Victor Fence
Hi,
I confirm I have no save of all tabs I select by Capture Page, all the time.
I have only "Please do not close the page while it being saved" on each selected page.
The "Capture Url" works fine.
I use Firefox Nightly on linux Kubuntu and my scrapbook directory is on an other partition.Developer response
posted 6 years agoHi, I guess this problem does not happen on all the pages, and all the times, this usually happens on the page have not fully loaded. I am trying to make a higher success rate in next version. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 11818924, 6 years agov1.5.1 cannot capture. After reinstall the older version, everything works fine again, thank you.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14727057, 6 years agoAs of now scrapbee does everything scrapbook did, you can save bookmarks or save entire pages with the ability to edit the saved pages just like in the past.
No complaints, we finally have a substitute on the new firefox. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14700429, 6 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by David Rowlinson, 6 years agoExcellent, have now been able to start making the move to Quantum.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14669903, 6 years agoGreat! Great, great, great! ScrapBook is back!
One thing I figured out by reading the reviews: you need to add the staement
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\scrapbee_backend" /d %USERPROFILE%\Downloads\scrapbee\scrapbee_backend.json /f
in addition to the
reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\scrapbee_backend" /d %USERPROFILE%\Downloads\scrapbee\scrapbee_backend.json /f
After adding this to the install.bat, everything works fine!
Thanks so much!! I now can switch all my computers to FireFox Quantum.
Cheers, Lutz
Add-1: I like to give some contribution, but I don't like to create a paypal account. Any suggestions?Developer response
posted 6 years agoHi, thanks so much for 5 starts, glad to know you like ScrapBee. And thanks for your suggestion, I'll fix that in next version.
I also do not like paypal... but I have not found a better choice for now :( - Rated 5 out of 5by jack_chen, 6 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14618955, 6 years agoMore than 20 different virus scanners (through VirusTotal.com) report Trojan malware in backend executables of this extension.
If the backend was not binary blobs but open source, users could audit the code and compile themselves. How else can you be sure that the extension doesn't contain malware?Developer response
posted 6 years agoPlease bypass the error by adding ScrapBee to white list, or ScrapBee won't work without a backend executable, of course it's a miss-blocking.
UPD: So, will it reported as Trojan if you compile it yourself? Why scanners have a white list? How do you think about this?
I just removed backend source code from package in new version (you can find it in older version) because it's not needed for runtime. And I am going to host all of the codes in github.
UPD: ScrapBee hosted in github now: see https://github.com/vctfence/scrapbee - Rated 5 out of 5by tony.a, 6 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14571805, 6 years agoThanks so much for this extension. It works great. Finally I can open my Scrabbook(X) pages in the latest FF version.
Could I ask you to consider below features if possible?
* Open captured pages in current tab by default. To open a page in a new tab, use ctrl + click instead.
* Toolbar button to show/hide ScrapBee in sidebar
* Ability to open Scrapbook(X) notes and note pages
Thanks
Edit: Thanks for implementing 1 and 2 so quickly. And opening notes does already work. Editing does not but that's fine.Developer response
posted 6 years agoHi, thanks for 5 stars, and for your question, I can not tell too much for now: 1 possible, 2 maybe, 3 maybe not.
UPD: You are right : ) 1 and 2 implemented. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14569034, 6 years agoEverything works fine and, contrary to other scrapbooks wannabes, this add-on offers the same work-flow as the legendary ScrapBook add-on.
It is also compatible with scraps scrapped using ScrapBook.
However, it only gets 4/5 because it offer no extra processing options of saved scraps like highlighting, adding notes or deleting elements.Developer response
posted 6 years agoThanks for review, and you are right, the main difference is lack of post processing, I plan to add this in the future.
UPD: Simple editing is added in version 1.4.1, please have a try. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14566895, 6 years agoBrilliant! Been without a Scrapbook for over a year since the original died. Could never get ScrapbookQ to work. You've made my day Victor.
