1. As it is mentioned in help, archives are distinguished by the italic font.
2. There is an option in settings for this called "Left click opens bookmarks in the active tab". Middle click always opens pages in a new tab.
3. There is a little sense in this, unless to bookmark/archive to the default shelf, because the destination folder should be specified anyway. Consider using iShell commands (also described in help) which speed up things greatly.
