- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15035683, 5 years agoWorks well, I wish there was an additional setting where you could choose where the file goes automatically, without changing the download location in Firefox, as I prefer all my saved pages in a different location than all my other downloads go to. (I currently have to move all the saved pages from "~/Downloads" to another folder.)

- Rated 5 out of 5by zzt741, 5 years agoGreat! The file saved is very small, and the function is powerful, some pages using the browser's saving function to save will load as blank, but using SingleFile is right.
非常好!保存的页面比浏览器的小多了,功能强大,有的页面用浏览器保存打开是空白,用SingleFile保存打开就可以查看。 - Rated 5 out of 5by Elijah Lopez, 5 years agoAbsolute genius for making this. Easy to save and share pages with others.

- Rated 5 out of 5by soulrebelno1, 5 years agoBlow me, it works! Why doesn't the built-in Firefox 'Save Page As...' work as well as this add-on? It used to work, but for some reason, it just will not download any html pages these days? I like the way it's all-in-one solution, no need for a separate directory to store files in. It's not clear where the file is saved to, or how to define the download directory. I've since found out that this can be done, by ticking the 'Save as' box in settings - so problem solved! A great Add-on, keep up the good work.

posted 5 years agoThank you for the review. You can also save pages into sub-folders of your "Downloads" folder by prefixing the "File name template" value in the options of SingleFile with the sub-folder name(s). For example, the value "Archives/SingleFile/{page-title} ({date-iso} {time-locale}).html" will save pages into the sub-folders "Archives" and "SingleFile" in your "Downloads" folder. - Rated 4 out of 5by browser.tech, 5 years agoI tried SingleFile briefly. It works. Looks like a well thought out and put together addon.
One thing I noticed, when you have the option enabled for "include the info bar in the saved page," the page actually shows a floating icon in the upper corner. If you click on this icon a flyout will indicate the time the page was saved, then if you hover over a tiny button on the flyout the original URL will popup. Clicking the tiny button takes you to the original URL.
This all looks nice, but I prefer the way Save Page WE does it. Save Page displays a fixed header bar with the full URL and time the page was saved. For someone like me who's always paying attention to the URL bar this is nicer. It's easier to understand that the page you're viewing is an archive, and easier to get to the original page with a single click.
Note that both the floating icon in SingleFile and the header bar in Save Page WE can be closed.
I also notice that neither SingleFile or Save Page WE works in FireFox reader view. A small thing, but it would be nice. That's what I was really looking for when I tried SingleFile.Developer response
posted 5 years agoThanks for the review. It is technically impossible to make an add-on run in the reader view. However, you can format the page, as the reader view does, in the annotation editor by clicking the button "format the page for better readability" (page with glasses icon) when present. - Rated 5 out of 5by keaton, 5 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13462509, 5 years agoDoes a pretty good job, since Firefox can't save a page.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Larry, 5 years agoExcellent Add-on! - It is well thought out and well designed and has been a long-time coming. But gildas did it right. Everything you need using the latest technology. Remember the old .mht files used to save web pages. Well this is much, much better and is not dependent on any special software. Thank You gildas!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Ates, 5 years agoAlmost the best extension possible (for it's purposes). Please, consider adding an ability to save gif AND turn youtube frames to a link (which is showing instead of youtube frame).
Anyway, thank You very much for such nice peace of software!)Developer response
posted 5 years agoThank you for the review. Saving GIFs should be okay. For example, the GIF of the demo on https://github.com/gildas-lormeau/SingleFile can be saved without any particular issue. Replacing frames with a link to their URL is an interesting idea. If you want to discuss it, don't hesitate to contact me by email or on Github.
