- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14295862, 6 years agoReally well executed extension. This thing stays out of the way but lets me know how things are going. On browser restart if you have 70 to 700 tabs it takes a while to catch up and there is some update lag when you delete tabs to clean up but that is most likely not a problem with this extension (more like a problem of having too many tabs open :-)).
I have a list of 7 extensions I always install and this is number 3! - Rated 5 out of 5by Soustruh, 6 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Nikita, 6 years agoSimple tab counter you can drag and drop anywhere on menu bar and customize the color scheme too. Does what I wanted it to do.
- Rated 4 out of 5by PERCE-NEIGE, 6 years agoIt is ok, colors can be customized, what it shows, number of tabs, number of windows, etc, also can be customized. But nowhere I can choose the place, it always sits in the tab bar, I can drag it in the addon bar with the customzation firefox menu, but impossible to put it next to the URL bar.
- Rated 5 out of 5by M., 6 years agoWorks great! But how can I add the badge to the titlebar as in your screenshots (FF62)?
- Rated 5 out of 5by KT, 6 years agoNow I don't have to COUNT how many tabs I have open but just with a look can see that I have 31 tabs open and I should go through them and close some. Thanks! :) What I like about this one more than the others is that it is by the tabs so doesn't make the spot with the other addons longer.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Arragon99, 6 years agoAm I wrong or are in version 0.4.0 no possibilities to configure it? I do not see any settings options. I am using Firefox 62.0.3. Currently it shows only the open tabs separate for each window, no window count together with tabs count like in your first image. I only see the correct counts when moving over the icon or clicking on it. Will be the full featured version only available for Firefox 63? Add info: I updated Tab counter from last version to 0.4.0.
** Update 16.10.2018 **
got update for 0.4.1. Noticed still missing option of add-on in Firefox 62.0.3 Add-On Manager view. Removed the add-on and reinstalled it and, voila, the options of the add-on are back. I do not know what happened that the view of options in the add-on manager view has been dismissed, but anyway.. now full 5 stars for my needs. Thx for your workDeveloper response
posted 6 years agoHi Arragon99,
I actually removed this feature in v0.3.0. You must have upgraded from v0.2.2 to v0.4.0. I removed the "both" feature that shows the tabs and windows with a slash between them because many users were reporting an "issue" where the numbers were cut off. Firefox limits the amount of characters shown to 4 (including the slash). I was not aware that anyone used the feature, as there were no complaints after releasing v0.3.0. To protect user privacy, I do not collect analytics on how users configure the addon.
I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, and I will release version v0.4.1 that brings back the "both" option.
Thank you,
Perry
UPDATE: I have released v0.4.1: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-counter-webext/versions/?page=1#version-0.4.1 - Rated 5 out of 5by Patrice, 6 years agoNo permission asked = 11/10 or an easy 6 star
Once installed I got scared when i saw that i have more than 350 tabs open, but i was not really surprised... ;)
It does just one thing (total number of tabs), but it does it smoothly and well.
Simple and effective! well implemented with the FireFox UI without disturbing your eyes.
Strongly recommended to those who need to scroll horizontally to switch between tabs...
Thanks a lot to the developer/Perry - Rated 5 out of 5by Mylaur, 6 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by nd4spd, 7 years agoCounter says "wait" all the time for seemingly no reason, especially considering it flickers with the value for such an insignificant time.

posted 7 years agoHi nd4spd,
I'm sorry that you're having this issue! In order to have the least impact on browser performance possible, the extension calculates the tab count display separately for each tab. When you switch to a tab for the first time, the addon waits a few seconds to count the tabs. When you first install the addon, it will not count tabs until you switch tabs at least once. However, if it always says "wait" after you install the extension and have started using your browser normally, then something is wrong. I will look into the issue! - Rated 5 out of 5by carlos pereira, 7 years agome gusta, ayuda a llevar control para quienes abrimos muchas pestañas. muy muy buena.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13645190, 7 years agoShows absolutely wrong number of tabs! I have 23 tabs opened and your extension shows 92!

posted 7 years agoHi,
That does not sound right at all! I will try to find the source of this issue. Please check the addon settings and ensure that it is not set to count the "total of all windows" or "both." - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 6796758, 7 years agoWorks fine w/ my browser theme. I like that it shows number in this window + number of all windows. thanks.

posted 7 years agoHi!
I just release a new version! Version 0.3.0 adds the option for lighter, Firefox Photon-style icons! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13536088, 7 years agoThanks for this practical add-on. I just miss the option to change text color. I like light colors but in that case number of open tabs is invisible (because it is always white). And also like someone before mentions it would be useful that you could change size of font (number) for us who don't have perfect vision any more :)

posted 7 years agoHi ClanR,
Unfortunately, Firefox controls the badge text color and size. I will implement this feature as soon as Firefox makes it available. Thank you for your review! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 5817183, 7 years ago

I would like to know if it is possible to have an option to increase the size of the number of pages. the current size for me is a bit small (vision problems) and if it was configurable it would suit everyone, including those who see less well: D

posted 7 years agoHi Joãofarm,
Firefox does not give addon developers control of the badge's text and font size yet. I will be sure to add the feature as soon as it is available!
