- Rated 5 out of 5by KT, 6 years agoNow I don't have to COUNT how many tabs I have open but just with a look can see that I have 31 tabs open and I should go through them and close some. Thanks! :) What I like about this one more than the others is that it is by the tabs so doesn't make the spot with the other addons longer.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Arragon99, 6 years agoAm I wrong or are in version 0.4.0 no possibilities to configure it? I do not see any settings options. I am using Firefox 62.0.3. Currently it shows only the open tabs separate for each window, no window count together with tabs count like in your first image. I only see the correct counts when moving over the icon or clicking on it. Will be the full featured version only available for Firefox 63? Add info: I updated Tab counter from last version to 0.4.0.
** Update 16.10.2018 **
got update for 0.4.1. Noticed still missing option of add-on in Firefox 62.0.3 Add-On Manager view. Removed the add-on and reinstalled it and, voila, the options of the add-on are back. I do not know what happened that the view of options in the add-on manager view has been dismissed, but anyway.. now full 5 stars for my needs. Thx for your workDeveloper response
posted 6 years agoHi Arragon99,
I actually removed this feature in v0.3.0. You must have upgraded from v0.2.2 to v0.4.0. I removed the "both" feature that shows the tabs and windows with a slash between them because many users were reporting an "issue" where the numbers were cut off. Firefox limits the amount of characters shown to 4 (including the slash). I was not aware that anyone used the feature, as there were no complaints after releasing v0.3.0. To protect user privacy, I do not collect analytics on how users configure the addon.
I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, and I will release version v0.4.1 that brings back the "both" option.
Thank you,
Perry
UPDATE: I have released v0.4.1: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-counter-webext/versions/?page=1#version-0.4.1 - Rated 5 out of 5by Patrice, 6 years agoNo permission asked = 11/10 or an easy 6 star
Once installed I got scared when i saw that i have more than 350 tabs open, but i was not really surprised... ;)
It does just one thing (total number of tabs), but it does it smoothly and well.
Simple and effective! well implemented with the FireFox UI without disturbing your eyes.
Strongly recommended to those who need to scroll horizontally to switch between tabs...
Thanks a lot to the developer/Perry - Rated 5 out of 5by Mylaur, 7 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13214482, 7 years agoFirts of all very good addon,
I would like to know if it is possible to have an option to increase the size of the number of pages. the current size for me is a bit small (vision problems) and if it was configurable it would suit everyone, including those who see less well: D

posted 7 years agoHi Joãofarm,
Firefox does not give addon developers control of the badge's text and font size yet. I will be sure to add the feature as soon as it is available! - Rated 5 out of 5by 1337, 7 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by ADvi, 7 years agoCan you please add support for https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/tab-groups-panorama/ to show tab counter for current group only? Thanks for addon!
Developer response
posted 7 years agoThank you for your review! Unfortunately, Firefox 57 deprecates that Tab Groups extension. The developer put a note in the addon description. The original purpose of this addon was to create a tab counter that would work with the new addon format used in Firefox 57 and beyond. I am open to adding counters for other Firefox statistics and easily-integrated addons, but I will not support an obsolete addon. - Rated 5 out of 5by Detergent, 7 years agoPretty much does what it promises to do. It counts your tabs.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Cyberknight, 7 years agoIt's about 66KB in size (packed), being the biggest contender (the smallest I've tested is 6.5KB, packed). It uses a timeout to update the badge, what I'm not sure is the best way of doing it (I've seen others using event triggers). It may be configured to show total tabs in all windows, tabs in each window or both (although that last option is not very useful, as there is a limit of how many characters can be displayed on a badge). Nevertheless, it has good options and works fine, using WebExtensions technology and is bootstrapped (no restart required).

posted 7 years agoThanks for reviewing my addon! This addon actually does use event triggers! However, I debounce the events to prevent an overload of updating the badges. This way, when restoring a session or opening lots of tabs at once, the counter doesn't impact the performance of the browser. Also, I apply the badge to each tab individually (as opposed to the default of globally to all tabs and windows) so that if you have two windows on screen, both will always show the right count for their respective window. - Rated 5 out of 5by dev-rke, 8 years agoSimple to use, easy to configure, good performance even with hundreds of tabs, good code quality. Thanks for this great extension!

posted 8 years agoThank you! Your help in sorting out the performance issues is greatly appreciated. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 11807532, 8 years agoVery good replacement for unmaintained tab-counters add-ons. Better than old ones.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Noah Davis, 8 years agoThe icon doesn't clearly communicate the purpose of the addon to me, but that doesn't really matter. Maybe it would be fine if the icon looked more like a tab and less like a line with bends in it.
There is an option to set the addon's icon to transparent and just leave the little thing that says how many tabs there are. It's nice that there is a little popup when you click on the addon icon that tells you how many tabs you have open in the current window and how many you have total.Developer response
posted 8 years agoThanks for the review! I neglected to add screenshots before; I've added them now. - Rated 5 out of 5by Bout's Morgan, 8 years agoIf I change colour for black, Tab Counter is always in red.
You're welcome. I use Firefox 52.0 x86 and Cyberfox 52.0 x86 (Intel).Developer response
posted 8 years agoThank you for trying about my new addon! I'm not having this issue, but I think I may know what's causing it. What version of Firefox are you running?
Please try v0.0.2 from here: https://github.com/DaAwesomeP/tab-counter/releases/tag/v0.0.2
