- Rated 2 out of 5by Kaj, a month agoSimple and effective extension that I did not knew I needed before finding it. Unfortunately it is not possible to set it to automatically activate. With no auto activation, I have little to no use of this and will uninstall.

You rated 2 stars for not automatically activating it. However, you can customize the Turn Off the Lights Firefox extension, and yes you have the option to set the dimmer automatically when to a certain time or play button click. And more:

- Rated 4 out of 5by Antihero, 2 months agoEn solid udvidelse.
Developer response

If the video frame is not detected properly, it is possible that the streaming service is using an - Rated 5 out of 5by d_cantwell, 2 months agoI like the idea behind this extension. I listen to background music while working and I get very easily distracted by the recommended videos so I wanted a way of hiding them. Although this extension did darken the area around the video, I found it wasn't dark enough and would like a way of deciding how dark it gets. Otherwise it's very handy.
Edit:
I didn't realise there was an option to set the opacity. I only tried to find options by right clicking the extension. Changed to 5 stars, very helpful extension.Developer response

Thank you for your 4 stars review. And using the Turn Off the Lights Firefox extension!
In the Turn Off the Lights Welcome Guide I explain this feature. There are many ways to set the dark layer to 100% black. You can do that in the Turn Off the Lights Options page; Or in the double-click on the gray lamp button, that will open the mini settings panel. See this YouTube video tutorial:

Thanks,- Rated 2 out of 5by Jagick, 4 months agoUsed to love this add-on years ago, but now no matter what settings I try, and no matter what site I go to, the video player is dimmed along with the rest of the sites making it impossible to access video controls. This wasn't always the case years back.

Have you tried to reset the Turn Off the Lights settings? That will make sure you are a fresh user with default settings.
1. Open the Turn Off the Lights Options page
2. Click on the Advanced Options tab. Scroll to the bottom of the web page, and click on the big button "Reset the Turn Off the Lights settings
3. Restart your Firefox web browser
Also, check you are using the latest Turn Off the Lights Firefox extension version. And try to disable the other Firefox extensions you are using in the background. That should solve this issue.
