- Rated 5 out of 5by MNK, 2 years agoOmg this an absolute LIFE SAVER. I'm currently trying to make edits to a site I'm making for someone and realized from feedback that we were seeing things differently (I have a 2560x1410 curved monitor. They have a 1920x1090 laptop. Does not compute). Tried to find an easy extension that would change my windows so I could view a window similar to how they were seeing it without having to change my display settings every time, mess with the window sizes to get that /just right/ dimension, or download unnecessary software when I only want my firefox windows to be changed.
This extension not only allows me to input my desired width and height, but also name it and create shortcut keys. Love love love.
As the creator has said multiple times in the other reviews, please make sure you understand what purpose this extension does before dismissing it as not working. Maybe it doesn't work for you because that's not the purpose it's trying to serve -- it just so happened to serve me and my idiotic thinking that everyone obviously is looking at a window in the same dimensions I am.
Edit: Cool to see it's still being updated despite last review being 2 years ago. Haven't come across any bugs yet but nice to see it's still being overseen. - Rated 4 out of 5by Mardus, 4 years agoThe extension shortucts interfere with Windows special character alt codes, such as when I want to type Alt+0149 for a bullet, the window resizes to one of the user-defined sizes as soon as I press 1 after 0 when holding the Alt key down.
I cannot change this in Firefox versions earlier than Firefox 66, as these older versions do not have an extensions shortcut manager.
I recommend making Shift+Alt+[number] the default instead of Alt+[number] in future versions of WindowSizer. - Rated 2 out of 5by aWalker, 4 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16008124, 4 years agoTo each it's own..... I quite like it !, BUT, in my opinion, be a lot better with an option button to allow positioning the resized version ( Ie; Leave unchanged, ctre in window etc.....)
Best of luck ;0)Developer response

This add-on specifically does not do anything with *position* so maybe it's not for you in the first place. There are other addons that do use positions as well, yet they require a defined position always, which is often not desirable. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14505724, 5 years agoAlmost the best solution for me to customize my web games windows. Could be great if there is any backup for my setup information. Each time I reinstall my Firefox the settings had just all gone.

posted 4 years agoThis is officially a planned feature for a future release
See: https://github.com/drcheap/WindowSizer/issues/9
UPDATE: This has now been implemented in v1.4.0 - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12472700, 5 years agogreat Job! I could have given 5 stars but, its missing one feature. If you can add the feature where people can set the left and top position of any window in addition to setting up the size, then, it will be a best addon in this world!

This add-on specifically does not do anything with *position* so maybe it's not for you in the first place. There are other addons that do use positions as well, yet they require a defined position always, which is often not desirable. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13583210, 5 years agoAfter trying many resizers for Firefox, this is by far the simplest to use and the most flexible to configure.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15016548, 5 years agoThis one is finally to work! I try 4 extension and no of them can work.
- Rated 1 out of 5by XSS, 5 years agoOnly working half-way, at best!
No matter the actual window size, if whether maximized or not, this add-on always detects and displays a window size of 632x119, and offers to use that – and only that size for a new resolution to save. Of course, the result is an unusably minute letter box size browser window without any page content visible.
I suspect the add-on's inability to detect the correct window sizes stems from the browser's protection against fingerprinting. However, other similar add-ons don't have this problem with identical Firefox settings, so this is a no-go for me with this WindowSizer add-on.
The setting of the window size itself might work, though. I didn't really take the time to measure whether the resulting window really had the 632x119 pixels. ;)Developer response
posted 4 years agoSome improvements to the calculations have been made in v1.4.0, it might be worth giving it another shot! - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 12674645, 6 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Huwbutts, 6 years agoThere are a couple of extensions like this out there, but this one was the only one that I could (easily) figure out how to save current window size as preset.
Crucial for streaming. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14551937, 6 years agoHeart-broken and disappointed, Dr. Cheap ... Had high hopes ... Wanted to give ONE MILLION STARS, but I can't set the font size ... [edited -- no, more, the magnification / resolution of the page ... or, would it be scaled scaling, not sure]. I so hoped that I could set a Profile on this where I can read my Google Mail in the 120% size of a window at 1920 x 1080. But, there is no place here to select font size. If that would have been here, I'd have let my wife carry your babies ... {Grin} ... But, please, add that feature and I'll give you 100,000 reviews. Maybe, even add URL to that list where you can have a checkbox that will auto-change window when visiting that URL. That's an idea too.
Please, please, please ... keep improving this extension. It has great potential. But, right now, is useless for me, and I don't see the purpose really of it now in current state ...
Okay, I found this extension, "Zoom Page WE", and I think that is more what I needed. Maybe, I didn't understand clear purpose of this extension. Because I need that ZPWE. Okay, I'm going to raise my rating from 2-stars to 3-stars. But, still, please, consider the suggestions that I made. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14515611, 6 years agoSetting any other resolution but 632x100, which is listed as current window size (it definitely is not) results in an error, stating: "Please correct errors" while marking the two fields red, emptying them.
The hotkey to use this ridiculous preset work, so have a second star. Am willing to provide more information if needed.Developer response
posted 6 years agoPlease report bugs via GitHub (See the Support Site link on the add-on page). Be sure to include screenshots and any other pertinent information. - Rated 3 out of 5by spherinder, 6 years agoThe hotkeys make the extension unusable on mac. The Alt+2 hotkey is already used for the @-symbol for instance.

posted 6 years agoI believe on Mac you can also use the Command+# hotkeys, don't have one to test with though. Also, FF 66 is going to include customizable hotkey support. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14381426, 6 years agoIt shall support big resolutions like 4K UHD, too.
Developer response
posted 6 years agoIt does, I personally have even set up a preset of 7680x2160 on one system running dual 4K monitors. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14142584, 6 years agoLOVE IT :D
Wish I could extract the settings though :D :D :D *hint* :p - Rated 2 out of 5by arnofly, 6 years agoPosition do not works on Windows 7. Sometime there is a bug refresh when you click on the icon extension (the menu is empty). You can find a better extension to do the same thing.

posted 6 years agoThis add-on does not do anything with *position* so maybe it's not for you in the first place. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13510564, 7 years agoVery good complement.
I can configure all resolutions I want and save it. - Rated 4 out of 5by せしゆ, 7 years agoすばらしい! 欲しかったのコレです。
良設計だと思います:シンプルインターフェイスでわかりやすい
星マイナス1の理由:使って未だ10分しか経ってないので… すみません…
great! This is what I was looking for.
I suppose this extention is good design: simple interface and easy to understand.
Reason about score of minus 1point star: I have used it only 10 minutes yet... sorry...
