- Rated 5 out of 5by anon, 4 years agoHey love the extension been just what I needed to make youtube usable with the new theme. Small bug that just started today the cog wheel, full screen option and subtitle option has been disappearing. Sometimes it doesn't disappear right away and other times it does I thought it was caused by going into full screen mode then back out but it just happened to a video that I never went into full screen mode with. It just started happening today so it might have something to do with your latest update. Hope you can fix this soon. https://imgur.com/a/nFWS0wI
EDIT: It works now very good job! EDIT of the EDIT seems to work for a while then does the same thing that it was doing in the picture I linked. But going fullscreen then out fixes it for a while.Developer response
posted 4 years agoThanks for the review and a bug report! Regarding this issue I was aware that going into theater or fullscreen modes and back breaks it but it's weird that it can happen without any user action. I'll try to fix the bug that occurs when changing modes today, however the scenario where is occurs by itself will require more investigation.
EDIT: Try now.
EDIT2: Saw your edit of the edit quite late but I've noticed it breaks when zooming or resizing the page. I'll try to fix it soon. - Rated 5 out of 5by JD, 4 years ago

The old youtube layout so far has a high degree of perfection and is wonderful.
I am very satisfied with the use of the pillar box.
One suggestion, but I'd be happy if youtube menus could always be open on the same page.
We also need to fix an issue where the end of the progress bar is choppy when using a small video player.
December 24: Addendum
It is said that it has been fixed, but it has not been fixed as of 12/24.
4/5 will be cut off like the attached image.

Thanks for the quick fix of the progress bar.
I am facing a new problem.
This is a serious problem for me.
From version 1.3.5 or later, you have to wait up to 10 seconds to load the next video.
No symptom was seen in previous versions.
It may be displayed immediately.
As for my symptom, the display from the top page is always awaited.
1080P → 1080P etc. will be displayed immediately.
1080P → 480P tends to occur, but the cause has not been identified.

All the problems I had in Ver1.6.3 have been cleared.
Thank you.
I appreciate it very much.Developer response
posted 4 years agoJust wanted to let you know that progress bar has been fixed. Cheers!
EDIT: Thanks for the updates, I just looked into the issues you mentioned and sadly I cannot reproduce them. I even tried setting my YT language and region to JP and I verified it on the same video you linked but nothing breaks. If it requires some specific steps for the bug to occur then let me know. Also check if some other extensions or userscripts aren't interfering with YouTube Redux. It also appears that recently YouTube got some updates that introduced various bugs by itself so there could be stuff broken that's not related to the extension. Anyway I'll investigate further to see what could cause the long loading times since 1.3.5.
Unfortunately I'm not getting any notifications about review edits so I missed that - feel free to contact me via email or reddit thread that's linked on the extension page. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16516869, 4 years agoThank you for the extension, you are my savior.
I got some suggestion that would love to propose, hope you can respond:
Bring back how a video page look like, basically like this, hope it helps:

Plus, the video list in the up-next's right column, it just keep displaying endlessly number of suggested videos, here's my idea: reduce them into limited number, just like Old Layout:

It would be awesome if you also can add the Youtube's site footer from Old Layout too as well:

posted 4 years agoAppreciate the suggestions! Going over the screens from top to bottom:
1. I'll try it. I was already planning on restoring the old likes bar layout and I'll also see what can be done about other stuff to get as close to the old layout as possible. No promises though. Working with these elements often proves to be troublesome considering multiple resolutions and resizing. But seems doable!
2/3. I can try to work around it by inserting some long blank element to avoid loading more, just like with comments scrolling option.
4. I wouldn't hope for much here. All the pages got infinite scrolling so the footer would have to be always fixed to the bottom of the page which would interfere with comments or videos below it and also there is no way (I guess) to get to the old layout to compare what each footer button did in order to replicate it properly. BUT maybe I could add language and country settings to the sidebar on the main page.
I got some stuff to fix first before I get to it so don't expect it to happen overnight, thanks! - Rated 4 out of 5by tttony, 4 years agosince yotube has been changing I had two others addons that stopped working, was looking for an addon that can change the player size and this one does the job the only bad? thing is that there is a blank space between the player/comments and the right sidebar

posted 4 years agoThanks for the suggestion, I'll have the fix for it added to the 'align content' setting soon.
Edit: it has been fixed and added to the small player option. - Rated 5 out of 5by NileQT87, 4 years agoI can foresee this becoming my savior for the video size, which is just overwhelmingly large on desktop. Sadly, the video progress bar seems to not match the width of the video, so a 4 minute video will only show a clickable progress bar up to 2 1/2 minutes with the rest of it hidden. I assume the progress bar is still the length of the new video width with a big portion of it just cut off.
I actually found yet another workaround for Good Old YouTube and Custom UserAgent String (*edit* now dead as of this afternoon), but the Add to Playlist button is broken on video pages for that. Still need it desperately for playlists (which are also hideously oversized and slow-loading compared to the fast-loading, compact lists), which literally don't load without constant Firefox warning messages. Huge problem if you have thousands of videos in playlists that are now unloadable. I've been making constant Save Page As backups while it lasts.Developer response
posted 4 years agoQuite a late answer but I very recently figured out how to fix the progress bar for good. Keep your eyes open for fixes and player size presets in the coming days!
EDIT: It's fixed. - Rated 4 out of 5by hacKim, 4 years agoplease add 'sort by' option for videos. there is already a small addon 'youtube-sorter', which works partially.
- Rated 5 out of 5by eligator, 4 years agoGreat! This look was the reason I was using Good Old YouTube, but at the moment it's not working. Saw your recent post there about this Add-on. So much better than the new format. Thanks.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16495358, 4 years agoPerfect. Exactly what i was searching. And the numbers of images/row can event be changed. Thank you Mr Omnidev0. (and let's hope google won't "fix" too rapidly)
- Rated 5 out of 5by Tristanian, 4 years agoThe definitive addon that we deserve, when it comes to maintaining most of the options and styles provided by the good old layout, before Google decided that they know what's best for us. It is also far less likely to break. 5 stars well earned.
