di Remo, 4 anni faVery grateful for this Add-On. It's a shame it's even needed. The Firefox Team constantly degrades usability for me. Now it would be even better if those Add-Ons could be moved to the top of the context menu since I use them very frequently and right now my most used items are at the bottom of the context menus.
Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 4 anni faMozilla decided not to implement that ability into the extension API (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1325758). You should be able to open the context menu and press 'h' (the menu item's access key) to activate it, in case that may be helpful.

But it is NOK in new Firefox at least 118 - when adding bookmark there is no popup to edit bookmark title.
I see the instruction from the previous reviewer, but can that be resolved in addon itself?Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il un anno faWorking fine here on Firefox Nightly (currently at v. 120). Perhaps double-check BTH's options to make sure "Show editor window..." is properly set.
If that doesn't fix, please post (or contact me via the AMO page listed support email or support site) actual detailed steps to reproduce the problem and I would be glad to assist in troubleshooting.
If you're referring to changing the order of contextmenu options via css, no, that cannot be done in the extension itself. I do plan to test that userChrome.css code, and if confirmed working, to note this under Developer Comments on the add-on homepage. - Valutata 4 su 5di Jason, un anno faOption "Bookmark Tab Here" can be placed at the top of the context menu via setting userChrome.css

and order of other opthions. - Valutata 5 su 5di McBob, 2 anni faI've depended on this addon for a very long time, but FireFox 114.0.1 broke it.
The "Add Bookmark Here" selection no longer appears in the Bookmarks menu dropdown.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 2 anni faThe text of the selection added by BTH is "Bookmark Tab(s) Here" not "Add Bookmark Here". It is still working properly here on Nightly (currently at v. 116). Make sure you don't have the incompatible (with BTH) "Default Bookmark Folder" add-on installed and that you are indeed using the current version of "Bookmark Tab Here". If you are still having the issue, please post (or contact me via the AMO page listed support email or support site) actual detailed steps to reproduce the problem and I would be glad to assist in troubleshooting. - Valutata 5 su 5di vlad a, 2 anni faStill working after all those years :-) Thank you for BTH, Tawn. A bug though: did no one notice the limit of 30 characters to the name of a bookmark folder? ctrl-BTH to pop a window; in its top line the new folder can be given a name (& thus created :-). It only allows 30 chars. Can this be changed to allow pasting/writing longer names? Thank you! ADDITION AFTER YOUR REPLY: oddly, when I edit the folder name later, there seems to be no limit in character length, which suits me well. Thank you! :-)
ADDITION 1 year later
The limit is still present. On “Bookmark Tab(s) Here”, when saving a bookmark into a new folder (ctrl-right click), the folder name is limited to 30 characters, whereas “New folder…” does not have this limit. For now, the workaround is to use the “Properties” submenu to change to a longer name. You said it'd be easy to discard that limit. Could you please?Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 2 anni faDespite it's many limitations, a major advantage of the current Firefox extension API is that extensions are far less likely to be broken by Firefox code changes.
You are the first to report an issue with the 30 character limit, thus it is likely sufficient in most cases, but there is no reason it cannot be increased. I'll make that change in the next version. Appreciate the review and bug report. - Valutata 5 su 5di hyk, 2 anni fa
- Valutata 5 su 5di Hans Hansen, 3 anni faMuch easier to use than dragging the icon on the left of the URL bar (no idea what it's called) into the correct bookmarks folder.
- Valutata 5 su 5di ergonomic-cat, 3 anni faThe context menu item is missing in the current folder view in the Library: right click at the empty space -- it should be there but alas.
Edit: to reproduce open the Library, create a new folder inside the Bookmarks Menu, right click at the empty space in the folder view.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 3 anni faYou need to right-click a folder or individual bookmarked item, not on empty space. This applies regardless of whether you are accessing it within the Library or in main Firefox UI. If the desired folder is empty, you'd need to open that folder's context menu. There is no way for the extension to change this behavior.
Also, due the the way the Firefox extension API is implemented, if in a top-level folder (such as 'Bookmarks Menu' or 'Bookmarks Toolbar') you need to right-click an existing item inside that folder rather than right-clicking the top-level folder itself. (Meaning if the top-level folder is empty, you need to add a bookmark via some other method first.) - Valutata 5 su 5di Ri.Si, 3 anni faGreat Add-on! Should actually be a basic feature of Firefox.
Just as a suggestion:
Maybe the Ctrl-click dialog box can be replaced with the FF built-in dialog box (which also appears when you press Ctrl-D)? This would give the possibility to check and possibly correct the position of the bookmark in the bookmark-tree (by using the dropdown for the location).Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 3 anni faThanks. Unfortunately that is not possible to do from the current extension API. See
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1411756
which is the reason the Ctrl-click dialog box was implemented the way it was. - Valutata 5 su 5di Peter Lyons Kehl, 3 anni fa

- Valutata 5 su 5di Vlad, 3 anni faThe addon is a life saver.
I only had trouble on one of my machines where it saved a bookmark but into a different folder. I found an addon that caused the trouble. In my case "Default bookmark folder", which I installed before I learned about this addon, overrode the destination folder selected by mouse right-click. I disabled it and now "Bookmark tab here" works like charm.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 3 anni faThanks for the review and conflict report. I've added a mention of this to the Developer Comments section of the product page. - Valutata 5 su 5di J.R., 3 anni faIn my top 5 MUST INSTALL FIRST on any setup. Thank you so much for this awesome add-on! GREAT WORK!

- Valutata 5 su 5di eggyolk, 4 anni faVery nice add-on - thanks a lot! There's only one thing that "disturbs" me: After having clicked 'Bookmark Tab(s) Here' the bookmark menues are closed immediately. Hence, there is no direct visual control of the result of the bookmarking. I would appreciate it very much if the bookmark menues remained open after adding the bookmark, so that I can directly see the position of the bookmark, change its position if necessary, and change its properties with an additional right-click if necessary. UPDATE: Just noticed that reviewer "VV" had the same "request".

Any chance we would see the option (or default) of the new bookmark being placed above the existing bookmark on which the user right-clicks on ? (as opposed to the current default of being placed below the item being right clicked on) ?
(added on 11.2.20)
I think I've found a bug : this great add-on, adds a bookmark not at the very top of a drop-down bookmark menu but as a second entry, right after the existing top-bookmark which remains in place as the top bookmark. I think this is a bug because I cannot think of any reason why it would deliberately be so.
Any chances of fixing this ?
==================
Congrats, great add-on; but I need a favor: can you make it so that after placing the bookmark it does not close the bookmarks menus, so that the new bookmark becomes instantly visible in its new place - for verification and corrections purposes ?
As it is now, the bookmarks pop-up menus disappear immediately after placing a bookmark.
Even better, it would be great if upon clicking the "Bookmark Tab Here" option in the drop down menu, a window with the bookmark's properties would come up, so as to be able to immediately modify, for example, the title of the bookmark, as I usually do modify them in order to maintain my own naming conventions. As it is now, I have to drop down the bookmarks menu a second time after I use "Bookmark Tab Here"m in order to access the properties of the bookmark I just only created.
To Developer: thanks for the tip, I tried it and both the control click and the more permanent change in the options work great. It is really helpful !

pubblicato il 4 anni faRe mentioned 'bug': If the Option is set for Top of Menu and you insert it via context menu of the *Bookmark Folder*, it inserts it at the very top. If you insert via context menu of an individual menu item, it inserts just below that menu item. Reversing that to above if Option is set to Bottom of Menu seems unexpected/confusing, but I suppose a separate Option could possibly be added if that would be helpful.
Unfortunately with the current Firefox addons API, it is not possible to prevent the menu from closing. Some properties cannot be changed via the API, however, you can change the title: Ctrl-click the 'Bookmark Tab(s) Here' entry or change the add-on's Option to Always Show the Editor Window.
