It swallowed 100% of my Disk access. I was about to abandon Firefox until I followed the recommendation to disable my add-ons. When I disabled this plugin, the problem disappeared.

I like this extension - it worked well enough, but for me it felt like a bit of a compromise so that more people will use it (which I think is a really good thing in a lot of ways) compared to the mix of privacy/security extensions I usually run. That extra protection comes at the cost of lots of manual feedback/whitelisting/blacklisting to pretty much every new site I got to which is a pain in the ass, and is prone to breaking sites which means I've got to spend more time tinkering with the settings. This extension however, seemed to work well enough out of the box and hasnt created any issues with breaking sites.
If you're at all concerned about privacy, or feel violated by companies watching everything you do on the web and then selling that to whomever is willing to pay for it, but arent wanting to spend anything more than a nominal amount of time to protect yourself than this is a great option. - Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 13572729, 7 anni fa

Update 1: Do you really need a list for that? cannot you simple try HTTPS version of the site?Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 7 anni faHi, thanks for the feedback. Our current list covers most of the traffic on the Web, and we believe it is the most comprehensive out there, but it does not yet include every site. We are working on expanding it as quickly as possible, however. - Valutata 5 su 5di ximian83, 7 anni fa

But how does it play with FF's own tracker-blocking capabilities? It would be nice if there was also an ad-blocking feature. Can I install an adblocker with this, if so which one?

It doesn't block lots of trackers.
* Nope, no extension conflicts.
* I didn't look numbers. I took into account just what your own extension detailed as blocked. And sadly, your extension didn't catch several trackers.
* I read your extension uses something from EasyList + something from Disconnect + something from you. Well, something went wrong, and nope, your extension doesn't catch trackers and webgarbage as other extensions catch. Your extension has a poor tracking protection.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 7 anni faWould it be possible to reach out to us directly to better understand what is going on? You can email open at duckduckgo.
We are using the same filter lists as other extensions in addition to our own changes, and so we should be blocking similarly and are in all our tests. If you’re not seeing that it could be because you have multiple blocking extensions installed and we are not seeing those requests. In any case, would love to get to the bottom of it if you don’t mind reaching out.
We should also point out you shouldn’t look at numbers because one thing we did to be more informative is group requests into tracker networks. So, for example, if there were 50 trackers from the same network, it would only count as 1 tracker network blocked, but we block all 50 requests. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 13722639, 7 anni fa

I am not a digital native, rather a digitalo immigrant, but I don't want ignorance to be my excuse for not standing up for my personal rights to privacy. DuckDuckGo have made it easy to get out of the way of the bulldozer that is google. Thanks.
