- Valutata 5 su 5di Aaron, 6 anni faLove the idea of generating passwords on-the-fly and would love to see this feature built into Firefox's password manager. I docked off one star because this extension's profile management is onerous. Creating/modifying profiles is a chore because I have to manually sync my profiles across devices; and I've tried the extension's sync to no avail. This is why I wish Firefox included a password generator, which would handle profiles far more efficiently. Still get a lot of use out of this extension so I appreciate the author's efforts!
*UPDATE 2024-01-16*: Responding to the author, profile sorting and filtering is fine, and I confirmed syncing works. 5 starsReplica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 10 mesi faSync support should be fixed even though it takes a few minutes for the sync to occur. Also, is the profile filtering and reordering good enough? - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 12623474, 6 anni faUnusable on GNU/Linux Ubuntu 18.04, FF 61.0.2 (64 bit): the addon window won't stay open, it will collapse before even typing a single letter inside it.
The support site does not seem to work either (404, page not found).
Thank you for the effort, but the code needs a thorough rework.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 10 mesi faThis has been fixed/does not occur anymore on new Ubuntu releases.
I have updated this to the master branch version so it isn't just an old Firefox port.
Support page fixed and now links to GitHub. - Valutata 3 su 5di Kerman, 6 anni faReasonable port but missing two key features for someone using the original extensively. First is the ability to group and organise profiles, second is the ability to have notes for each profile.
Once both are available and part of the import process I'll be able to migrate. With the localStorage issue as well of course.
Otherwise the functionality is there and the spartian looking interface isn't a problem. Glad to see the day I can't keep the original alive anymore I'll have something to move to.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 10 mesi faI have added the notes/description field and moved on from localStorage, I have profile reordering and filtering but no grouping as of yet. I'd like if you tried this again to see if the search and sort is satisfactory enough! - Valutata 4 su 5di Darren Chaker, 6 anni faBy Darren Chaker - PasswordMaker Pro provides all of the hallmarks of a great add-on for Firefox. The passwords are secure using a cryptographic hash algorithm, can be set to provide different characters as well as length to thwart brute force attacks, and are user friendly. In sum, if you pick PasswordMaker Pro, you have made the right choice!
- Valutata 4 su 5di Utente Firefox 14264300, 6 anni faThis port is very similar to previous versions and works well, except that "Copy button" no longer copies the password to my clipboard anymore. I have to remember to highlight the password and CTRL+c.
This is on Firefox 61.0 and linux.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 10 mesi faThe copy button is fixed, and works without any additional permissions now. - Valutata 5 su 5di Robert Noyce, 7 anni faI've been a Passwordmaker user since 2008 when Jung did the original code, and this port works fairly close to the original. The main benefit is that password generation are all local, and all that's transported are the options, which set the custom parameters for each website, and the option rdf file ports between Chrome and Firefox easily, or it can also be cut and pasted into a form, if in the future the rdf import doesn't work. It couldn't be better.
This works very well for any combination or requirement by various websites and servers, including those that force periodic updates. Passwords can vary in length by website and application, some can take hundreds, others just 8, with various character limitations or requirements. This can do it all, and not being server based, never goes down. I simply take a copy of the rdf file from the cloud should my device lose the options file.
There are other ports of this code for Android by other developers, but you have to custom input the options as the rdf will not import to those Android ports, as of this review. - Valutata 2 su 5di Utente Firefox 13593053, 7 anni faPerhaps one of the most clumsy and untenable add-ons that I have ever had the misfortune to add to my Firefox. I am tempted to ditch the entire browser and go to Chrome, as the add-on unmasks the numerous kluges and failures that this dreadful app uncovers. I recommend using Excel and randomizing a ten-letter ASCII code using random(). The results are far less pathetic.
- Valutata 4 su 5di DJAC Productions, 7 anni faIt replaces well the old PasswordMaker addon from Eric H. Jung that doesn't work anymore with the new Firefox Quantum. This add-on miss a "Fill this field " in the context mouse menu. I hope it will be added in a near Future.
- Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 13352012, 7 anni faThe only issue i ran into, is when i did an import with multiple portfolios, it set the default hash to MD5 instead of the one that i was using. Once i corrected that, everything seems to be good.
- Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 6455915, 7 anni faI've been using another PasswordMaker add-on in FF for years. It hasn't been updated in a while and always had issues. I use this version in Chrome and it's much simpler. I'm very happy that someone ported this to FF.
