When I just tried to open the textbox on facebook, to make a post, it slowed down my browser to a standstill, untill I was prompted to stop this specific extention, as it slowed town firefox, according to the popup. might be worth checking out on the dev side, as there might be soemthing weird happening with the code in combination with the facebook "create post popup". if this issue was not the case, i'd give it a 5* rating easiely.
Furthernmore this eyxtention causes issues with comment boxes in facebook, not allowing the user to type anything at all somewhat often.

- Valutata 4 su 5di Remaincense, un anno faIt is basically the best bionic reading extension. It works in other languages such as Chinese. But it seems to destroy the page,i foung 2 following issues:
1. After it is enabled, double-clicking the word selection on the page cannot select the entire word, but only part of the word.
2. After it is enabled, the addon"TWP - Translate Web Pages" doesn't work again. - Valutata 3 su 5di Utente Firefox 16649210, un anno faLooks like it's breaking the formatting on multiple websites, even when the activation hotkey hasn't been pressed. Have to leave it disabled for now...

My wish is for this app to be ported to Calibre, so it is possible to convert epub files for reading on ereaders.Replica dello sviluppatore

In Chrome it does recognize pdf files, but then nothing changes when I turn jiffy reader on. In Firefox the extension doesn't load when watching pdf's. Adding the pdf's to google play books also doesn't resolve this issue.
Followed the tip of the developer below and now I can get it to work with HTML files! Review is now well earned 4 stars for me. Thanks to the developer for reacting so quickly, extensively and offering help.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 2 anni faThank you Daniel, JiffyReader works best with html resources. PDFs are not supported at all.

To work with PDF files, you will have to convert the pdf to an html file.
Please note not all pdf files will convert accurately.
After conversion to html you will and should be able to use jiffyReader with your html file.
If you open a local html file in google chrome, you will have to grand JiffyReader permissions to work with local files, please consult our FAQ for more information on how to accomplish that.
Google Books has limited support for pdfs, some uploads may work and most will not. However it seems work well for EPUB files during testing.
Please donate or share JiffyReader to help keep this free and accessible to the entire world. - Valutata 4 su 5di Firefcx user 11712425, 2 anni faThank you for creating this extension, however there are two issues I've identified:
1. Every time I click the extension's button and move my cursor into the popup, my cursor travels directly over the Tips button which instantly creates a box which covers the main controls, which isn't ideal. Perhaps require the button to be clicked instead of hovered? Or perhaps a "Hide Tips button?" option at the bottom?
2. The bigger issue for me which stops me from using this Bionic Reading extension is that it has a performance conflict with the popular Gesturefy extension: Each time I use RMB to draw a gesture, the drawing of the gesture is delayed, and therefore the responsiveness of the action (e.g. drawing a vertical line from top to bottom to scroll to the bottom of the page is now sluggish). Without Jiffy Reader, Gesturefy works fine. Could this be investigated as it would be great to use this particular Bionic Reader extension over the other currently available options.
Edit: Gesturefy's performance isn't degraded on every page, but it's noticeable on the extension's GitHub page, for example, and maybe just other pages with a lot of text.

pubblicato il 2 anni faThank you for he feeback.
Sorry about issue 1, we will look into a better approach and your suggestion is super great.
Issue 2 is interesting and a bit technical to resolve, gesturefy might be the only ones that can resolve the issue as their implementation and ours as you pointed are in a massive battle.
Please reach out to gesturefy and ask them to provide unique id attributes on the div and canvas elements that they add to a web page during right mouse button gesture event.
That would allow us to update our list of elements to be ignored with the unique ID provided by gesturefy.
So basically they have to update their extension so that we can have a way of detecting their dynamic elements and tell our algorithm to ignore it from processing.
This fix on the part of gesturefy should be about a minute to open to code and add an id, then a few minutes to an hour to update it in firefox store , then we have to be notified either by you or them and we can make an update. - Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 13531787, 2 anni fa
