I wanted to do some safe blocking in my web-surfing (regarding security, privacy, performance issues).
So, I did my homework comparing lot of blocking add-ons (Ublock, Umatrix, NoScript etc). All of them are great tools! However, Policy Control was the "perfect size" for my user profile.
I found Policy Control very powerful, but more intuitive than other blockers. Much more easier to use it.
I am an average user, without technical knowledge. And Policy Control took me less than 10 minutes to learn how to use/configure it.
Also, Policy Control is lightweight when compared to other blockers.
I understand for example, that NoScript could be more detailed/granular.
But in my opinion, most of the users don't need such granular control. And worst, they don't have such know-how.
Policy Control for me has the perfect level of control, not too exaggerated but at the same time also not at all too generalist. It is the perfect friendly control balance, for a safer web-browsing without needing to be days messing with each web-page.
Even those who want a more detailed control, Policy Control has a log containing a list of each element in every page, where is possible to block/unblock.
Most important, I sent an email to the developer with my questions, and just in few hours he quickly replied me with the right answers.
Thank you!

i tested it, this is what i want.
now i'm ready to leave my old ff version 55
but, i request a toolbar with on/off for every function , image, video, like the old prefbar
1 click is better than click+slide+click
thanks a lot - Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 13432135, 6 anni faThis has become a critical device for me lately, as I have been forced to do extensive research and surfing using my $10/GB mobile data service for some weeks now. Very easy to adjust the restrictions as circumstances dictate- I can instantly maximize them when doing lots of sifting and perusal on high-data vampire sites like Twitter, then minimize them when I encounter valuable material that I must fully document/read (or whenever I feel the need to look at furry/anime porn--can't do that while blocking all images and such, hehehe).
I salute Firefox's many innovative extension makers for their labor-intensive gifts to mankind! - Valutata 1 su 5di terauck, 6 anni faI have had to allow everything on gmail and facebook. Gmail will not display properly unless I disable the add-on first.

and yet I could not for the life of me fix the
"Flash Missing" screen, DESPITE downloading and Re-Downloading the Official updated version of Adobe Flash!! It just COULD NOT be fixed...no matter what!!!
THEN...Comes along Jeremy Schomery and his most WONDEFUL Extension: "Policy Control". As soon as I flicked the switch which was originally switched to the off position to the ON position - the Flashless (is that even a word?) website reloaded and what I saw was purely AMAZING!! My Flash Came Back!! Thank you Jeremy Shcomery for this most wonderful of functional and working, but not complicated Extensions! - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 14192315, 6 anni fa

- Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 13821586, 7 anni faI blocked images and videos, downloading time of the websites dramatically dropped. Really thanks for this lightweight and simple extension. It helped me to have a fresh reading experience.
- Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 12750003, 7 anni faExtension with enormous potential. Can compete with noscript, in some respects, in the equality or at a higher level ...
- Valutata 3 su 5di Utente Firefox 13120891, 7 anni faمن هنوز ازاین افزونه استفاده نکردم و نمیتوانم درموردش توضیحی بدهم!
- Valutata 4 su 5di Utente Firefox 13605188, 7 anni faI truly like the fact that this extension allows one to set detailed policies instead of just allowing or blocking an entire site.
However I wish I could use wild-cards, such as '*' when white-listing web sites.
The reason for this desire is that it seems that after restarting Firefox and visiting Youtube, I am frequently unable to watch a video until I white-list xmlhttprequests for a hosts such as
https://r2---sn-n4v7knll.googlevideo.com
https://r2---sn-a5mlrn7d.googlevideo.com
https://r4---sn-5hne6nsd.googlevideo.com
I wish I could just I could white-list *.googlevideo.com once and for all. (The very large number of potential host names probably is a security measure.) - Valutata 5 su 5di A. Hugh Jass, 7 anni faReally excellent effort here. This is very valuable. It just needs a few UI tweaks, but I really like the control it provides. Way better than just a javascript blocker add-on!
Good work! - Valutata 5 su 5di X. Jerry, 7 anni faPerfect ! It saves some page like YouTube from NoScript but also protect my privacy and speed. I can't love this extension any more.
